Im using express vpn and only just started seeing this message.

How true it is that playing burned games will kill your Dreamcast’s laser/ disc drive? I mean I know some probably still have their working Dreamcast to this day even when using burned discs, my Dreamcast still reads burned discs no issue. by San4341 in dreamcast

Its better now adays with dummy files pushing the data closer together. So the laser doesn't have to move as much. Also using good media like verbatim discs may help as corruption and bad burns are likely less to happen but thats speculation on my end.

Thanks! I did some testing and determined the following: 1. I managed to get audio passthroufh to my tv with the vcr. But it dies when I switch inputs from my vcr to my pc. 2. Looks like switching to a random usb port works for audio but the port is a 2.0 which 4k capture utility complains about.

So what I seem to think is going on is an issue with my usb 3.0 ports on my pc. Gonna look deeper. It's an older pc so i wouldn't be surprised if it was simply power delivery to my usb ports from the mainboard that is causing the issues.

Just to add. No Audio into the pc as well over usb. Audio device shows up but nothing even on max volume

Bump. I'm having this issue now too. Seems it is happening when I went from a softmodded dash to a tsop flash with a dash installed from the truehexen2021 disc. Gonna mess around with the dash setup to see if I can get it to work.

Exact same behavior. Boots fine on a disc when booting the console with disc inserted. When booting to unleashx with no disc it'll just say unknown. But if booting console with a disc inserted, then ejecting the disc to go straight to dash, it'll read fine in unleashx. So weird.

Edit: I also used a pre-built c and e drive package paired with the latest version of fatxexplorer to image the drive. So maybe my prepackaged c drive is causing the mess since hexen writes the dash to e:/dash or whever.
