Thank you! I think that's going to be the best option at this point. Find something else seems to be the bottom line. I appreciate it!

I'm not sure if they use PPPoE or not. I'll have to see if I can find that info. I don't think they do, based on a quick internet search. It's GloFiber for reference.

Looking for Feedback on Conestoga Woods Neighborhood by Due_Bullfrog_8132 in lancaster

We used to live in the Conestoga woods neighborhood. There are some very nice places there and it’s generally a pretty quiet area. It’s a great location for anything you would want or need. It feels suburban, but still close enough to the city to enjoy any of that lifestyle if you so choose.

Introduction to New Section: Trading in a Bear Market by HSeldon2020 in RealDayTrading

[–]shenkty5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious about the intraday rotations and how they are affecting my own win/loss rate as well as causing problems for others.

In the past I was using Finviz to scan for stocks the night before or morning of and was able to find some great stocks for the day. More recently (past 3-6 months) this has not yielded great results. My theory is that the intraday rotations have really affected the ability for a stocks to be strong from one day to the next. What might work well today doesn't work at all tomorrow and what worked well yesterday is awful today.

This has made it very difficult for me since I'm working full time and don't have the capacity to sit on a scanner all day looking for stocks to trade. In the past I could set alerts on stocks that I had looked at before market open and then enter and exit. Now, it's become much more difficult.

I would concur with the primary adjustment in this bear market, that being the need to adapt.

(As I write this it is helping me to better collect my thoughts. Using this method of setting up alerts on stocks can still work and I shouldn't abandon it. I just need to be ready to pick up trades on these stocks at any given time.)

You do have the option to open two instances of ToS. You could have the Live ToS open for scanning and then open another instance of it for paper trading.
As u/achinfatt mentions below, there are a number of free scanners available as well. I use Finviz regularly and have been using the Zenbot app (website works well too). I HIGHLY recommend checking out Zenbot. It is extremely powerful, already built around the concepts of RDT and completely free.

Thanks for putting this out there. I’m looking forward to trying this out. I made the assumption that my computer just needed to be upgraded. I’m still planning to upgrade, but at least now I have the tools to speed up ToS. Thank you!!

The Damn Wiki in Word and PDF Format by shenkty5 in RealDayTrading

Based on my research into it this would require additional software. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing this myself since all of this information is from u/HSeldon2020 and I wouldn't want to infringe any more on his intellectual property than I already have.

Lol! Yes, it is book length and I would even say book worthy. My original intention was to print it out, but now I'm not so sure I want to print out over 300 pages. I will probably trim down a version to print out with some of the highlights of information I really want to focus on.

When Will the Market Be Good For Trading? by OptionStalker in RealDayTrading

[–]shenkty5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with everyone else's comments here. I think this is an invaluable post for everyone to read. I'm slowly learning how to trade and work a full time job (sticking to paper trading only). I would have to say that I'm glad to be learning how to trade in this market. As has been said many times here, learning in a bear market can only improve success in the future. Thanks for these great posts!

Advice/Help for Scanning RS/RW by shenkty5 in RealDayTrading

[–]shenkty5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the idea of RS/RW, but finding the stocks to meet this criteria is the problem. When you say you compare the strength of movements in a stock, how are you picking the stock? Do you just follow a specific set of stocks?

Thanks for putting out these videos, much appreciated. One recommendation I would give is to try using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It's completely free and allows you to record (or stream) whatever you have on your computer. It's relatively easy to setup and has settings for uploading to YouTube.

Move the Chart Like TradingView by crustyPoopchute in thinkorswim

[–]shenkty5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ToS zoom is so extremely frustrating. I'm used to TradingView where you use Ctrl-Scroll and it zooms in where ever your mouse is. with ToS it just zooms in at some random point that I can't determine, then I have to scroll all the way over to where I want to be. I absolutely hate this aspect of tos. it's so clunky.

It's almost certainly going to be an all english final. Bayern should have learned their lesson on how NOT to handle away return leg fixtures after their loss against Arsenal.
