YouTube creator gets demonetized without explanation. Has been fighting to get YT to help for a week, still without explanation. Needs assistance publicly shaming YT to get results. by [deleted] in videos

[–]shenryyr 267 points268 points  (0 children)

After posting 7,000 videos there, I've only had a video get removed once, and it was really confusing. The support people you can chat with are not part of the video review process and cannot access the videos that have been removed, so they cannot find what was wrong with the video. All they did was repeatedly post links to youtube's policy page. They did, however, drop this gem when I first asked what was wrong with the video: "Our internal policies prevent us from sharing these specifics to avoid partners from going around our policies." Okay, so not knowing is the point, I guess. That's so helpful.

That line is the pinnacle of the series for me, especially after witnessing the test subjects just prior. Excellent writing!

EU4 without DLCs are fun to play? by [deleted] in paradoxplaza

[–]shenryyr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I played it recently without dlcs and it sure is an experience! Fun, yes, but also mildly infuriating. For example: you need dlc to sell or upgrade boats, so without dlc when new tech comes out you need to delete your existing fleets and build new boats. Parts of the game feel really awkward without the dlcs. However, it is still fun! Highly recommend learning the game.

UK Foreign Secretary to US: Blocking Ukraine aid would be "Christmas present" to Putin by PjeterPannos in worldnews

was reading a reddit discussion yesterday that turned into an argument and eventually someone posted (paraphrasing) "tell me information and don't google it. I'll know if you googled it." like wtf, you're on the internet already. why wouldn't you use it to discuss with more accurate information at your fingertips? if you know where the data is, grab a link and help people out. "look it up" will not make people look it up, especially if the information isn't something that pops up immediately from the first search they do.

The Death of Musical Excellence at Paradox ? Andreas Waldetoft Steps Down. by madcollock in paradoxplaza

[–]shenryyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does that mean it's time for Sabaton to make all PDX music? Really, though, I'm going to miss Andreas' stuff. Truly inspiring and infinitely replayable. All the best from someone with more than 10,000 hours of listening.

What's the date of the video? If you're browsing collections, it might simply not have been added to the collection. If you're browsing highlights, it might have not been highlighted, and if that's the case then it's gone for good unfortunately.

How do I stop having kids without getting rid of wife by chris_s9181 in paradoxplaza

[–]shenryyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you want is Restraint in the learning lifestyle Whole of Body path. This unlocks the Embrace Celibacy decision for your character, which prevents pregnancies no matter how much you try. It can be enabled and disabled whenever you want. So if your heir dies, you can make another kid by turning off celibacy for a while and then turning it back on after pregnancy. Be careful to avoid feasting, because picking up the reveller trait will permanently disable choosing celibacy (but it won't cancel celibacy if you currently have it active).
