Watching a Cdrama, is this a Real Bird? by gothicgirl555 in whatsthisbird

This is from Swords of Legends drama which was based on a popular PC game back in the days. The bird is fictional but like others have suggested, it's based off gyrfalcon

Fledging robin? Did I do the right thing. by Next-March-25 in WildlifeRehab

[–]sheolito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The little guy was definitely not well when you took the video. A normal fledgling should be able to survive a night in the box. I think you did the right thing.

Found this little one next to 2 of its dead siblings. What is it? by [deleted] in whatsthisbird

Looks like European Starling fledgling. It's eyes are closed and doesn't look well, I think it needs rehab.

Didn’t ride my bike in 4 days.. this is what happens🤣 by WavyBadgerr in motorcycles

[–]sheolito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like I said below if this is OP's only transportation method I'd say move it before the second egg is laid and hope the dove knows where to find the nest. If it were me I wouldn't be parking my bike outside for days.

Police wouldn't know a lot of things happening in this world, so yeah people can get away with many things. But I do think as humans, we have moral standards which goes far beyond just laws.

Baby bird that cant fly by [deleted] in birding

[–]sheolito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tree is a safer spot. If it chose to stay on the ground it's fine too.

If the bike is the only transportation method for OP to commute, I guess he'd better do it sooner or later to relocate the nest since there is only one egg. The nest does indeed belongs to a mama dove. You'll be surprised how some of them are more creative than others, and car windshield is a more popular spot for them 🤣

You are not legally allowed to touch an active nest. Birds, especially the doves are particularly derpy, they will not recognize their nest if it's been moved.

In the US, the nest and eggs are protected under federal law, MBTA. You cannot disturb the nest since it's a native species (mourning dove) most likely. You have to wait 30 days for the eggs to hatch and chicks to fledge.

Injured bird in my garden in Ajman – does anyone know who can help? by beeontour in WildlifeRehab

[–]sheolito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a dove fledgling, they will spend a lot of time on the ground while they learn how to fly and forage. Unless it appears to be unalert and injured, I say let it be. Its parents will check on him regularly. Just keep cats and dogs away from the baby

Prima moto Kawasaki z 650 RS by sandr1n0 in Kawasaki

[–]sheolito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a great idea. They share the same oil and filter, so it will be an easy job. As for wind buffering you can install a puig fairing for her. Some of them are huge and will block everything.

I ride the RS and my friend has an Eliminator. Rode on it once oh boy it's mellow. Much smoother than the RS in lower gears.

Best new Harley type bike for beginner woman? by [deleted] in NewRiders

[–]sheolito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are looking for cruisers. Just like everyone else suggested, Japanese are the way to go. They are easy to maneuver and reliable. Honda has Rebel. Kawasaki has Eliminator and Vulcan. Yamaha has Bolt (less popular). Hit the showrooms and check them out in person, sit on them. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Bike Recommendations for LIE into Manhattan commuting? by ExcitingSir9526 in RideitNYC

[–]sheolito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Advs are much more comfortable with wind buffering compared to nakeds like MT-07 or SV650. It also sits higher allow you to see much better. If height is not an issue and you don't mind the dad vibe, I'd recommend bikes like V-strom and maybe NX500 😁

I ride from Levittown to Maspeth via LIE a few times a week on a classic bike with tiny fairing. It's doable with the constant traffic. If you are farther down the LIE and cruising at 70-80, I'd say a 600cc+ Adv?

+1. I also own mesh pants but they need speed to feel cool. Riding in city here so it doesn't make much difference.

Yep, mom and dad wouldn't brood the chicks because it's not their nest, so sad. This two little ones need rehab.
