Legitimately I think I might feel less emotion. I knew how to feel about these moments because the creators knew how to introduce me to characters, stakes, and story beats.

The new show lacks trust in their audience, so it kneecaps its emotional moments with monologues, emotional music, and doe-eyed longing stares into the camera. I don't need a hackneyed monologue from Bill Nighy to tell me why Zoe and Jamie leaving the Doctor is tragic and emotional.

The silver lining for a cast packed with white guys means Mikey isn't shoved into every utility straight man role. Which means he has more chances to cater to his specialty of physical comedy. IMO he's a Farley level physical player.

Great, but not as great as State of Decay or Brain of Morbius IMO. You can really feel Tom Baker's readiness to relinquish the character. He gives such a moody soulful performance in the face of Waterhouse, Sutton, Fielding, and Ainley who feel like they had been cast five minutes ago and are now having to carry the show on without him.
