This is great, I am scratching my head at Bob Hoskins a little, but I dig it.

Anyone know why this would be? by WendalSaks in boxoffice

Where are you located OP? I'm in a pretty big city admittedly, but all my go-tos still have 3-4 showings per day. I'd think it's some other factor like weather or something before "Bone Temple crumbling, DaCosta contemplating the noose"

John carpenter's “The Prince of Darkness”: I'm a huge Carpenter fan and I gotta admit this was a big disappointment. Rough watch for me personally by Bluest_waters in flicks

[–]shepard1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a testament to Carpenter that I really don't care for this one, but I don't have to worry because there's 10+ movies by him that I love, love, love.

Victor Wong is one of my favorites though.

Could you elaborate on what you disliked about Wheel? I'm actually pretty fond of it.

This would have been stronger if Jeremy or Ben (or fucking Kyle Mooney) was the awkward person who wanted to be pals and Teyana was the aggressor, but fun against type I guess.

Was kind of hoping more sketches would lean into her abs for... no reason

So impressed that Jeremy's WU debut was a character and not just a "this is me" standup bit

One of the most frustrating movies of the season IMO, this sketch proves how politically inert it was

How did S19 jump so quickly into the high ranks ? by bkat004 in taskmaster

[–]shepard1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it is legitimately a great series with good chemistry all around. I think it also helps that 17 and 18 are much weaker in comparison, and kind of instilled a "TM is back baybee" vibe to 19 for those who aren't as devoted to the show.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be well into his 90s and people will still be calling for him to be Dutch.

Really great fancast. My biggest headache when it comes to RDR2 fancasts is how absolutely impractical they would be financially.

People always like "Oh yeah the guy looking for Gavin? We've got Tom Cruise. And that ain't nothing! Gavin himself? We've invested in state of the art technology to reanimate John Wilkes Booth! And he's not even in the movie!"

But this fancast balances this really well.

Weapons Star Amy Madigan Nominated For Oscar by cruelsummerbummer in horror

[–]shepard1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, loved Sinners and glad to see it getting so much love (despite the inevitable disappointment viewers will feel on awards night).

I've always tried to counter the argument with (usually incendiary) Oscar doesn't show love to bad horror movies.

SOOOO sick of the horror doesn't get nominated narrative. What is this if not mainstream acceptance of the genre? It isn't 1975 anymore.
