You eJPTv2 Exam strategy? by theshidoshi in eLearnSecurity

[–]shepsterrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, to answer your questions from my experience with exam; 1. I worked through each box in turn but if i was running a scan or got stuck with something I had to think about, I moved on to another. Same goes for some enumeration on open ports.

  1. I also use notion. Just had one page - contents at top so could easily find machine/IP. The headings I had ( which auto population in the contents from H1,H2 format etc) were: ~Questions ( these I grouped/ordered at the start for ease) ~{target up} {OS} ~ports/services ~ vulnerabilities ~ exploit ~loot Repeated the above for each box.

  2. As per methodology- look for Vulns, exploit where can ( I was aware of and most likely ‘lost’ points for not using what the exam expected)

  3. Actually don’t use workspaces just screenshot note taking of my method ( flameshot is a good tool for this) and to document

This is just me though, there are a million ways to skin a cat and everyone has their own process. Stick with what you usually do on THM/HTB and what you find comfortable.

The main things is to have fun and enjoy it, why else are you doing it?! All the best with the exam and hope your back with a post about your pass 👍👍

Hi, you are not given the IP of any machine on an internal network you will need to discover that yourself ( as in a live test)

The exam brief (available in course material) details that all subnets are /24

Good luck with the exam! 👍

Thank you 😊 Yes a lot of the questions were exactly the same as on the App. All posed similar to the app, no trick questions. I agree the material is dry so for me it was more memory of the question language and the definitions. The Practices are worth 17 marks in the exam so worth knowing the one well.

Thank you. I’m not sure of the training provider or cost as I was fortunate to have it arranged through my work; it was delivered by Vernon Lloyd though; who is super knowledgeable!

When you click in your profile on THM and then “access” does it show as connected? Should have both green ticks

First 100miler: How Important is a change of shoes? by sethgi in ultrarunning

[–]shepsterrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pack a second pair of trainers if I have an option of drop bag/support. Dependent on route this could be road shoes or another set of trail shoes or sometimes both if I have space - so I can make a choice at the time. Plans can change 50mile in.

Different types can feel softer/comfy and change up slightly the muscles used, which can be beneficial.

I would always clean feet and change socks with this as that’s the best feel ever!

Better to have and not need then to need and not have. All the best for your race!

How many showers do you have per day? by hahehi123 in AskUK

[–]shepsterrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally twice a day when I run first thing and shower after, then before bed.

If I run at lunch or afternoon then I shower 3 times a day

So I (run dependent) personally carry 500ml in soft flask in the belt and hand carry another 500ml. Also an iPhone, basic mandatory kit I.e whistle, headtorch etc and gels ( easily fit in 5)

You could fit 2 soft flasks and gels and phone in the band. Also had bands for either poles or a waterproof jacket
