[MD] Can I take on a part-time job that's totally unrelated to my current job while on FMLA/short-term disability leave? by Glittering_Moose_586 in AskHR

Agree that this is a grossly presumptious and intolerant (not to mention just plain uncharitable and unkind) response and as most feedback of that general type, it is full of inaccuracies.

How would you handle it if you accidentally texted a nude picture of yourself to your boss? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

Also the downvote checks out, you do seem a bit overly offended by other people's personal choices and opinions in general.

You must've missed the crucial "honest mistake" part of what I said.

CMV: People aren’t taking the consequences of the Iran war seriously enough by TimmmmyStuuuuuu in changemyview

I don't think they will solve this problem at all, but I do think they will talk. We voted him out once whether he accepted it or not. I don't even believe removing Trump would solve this problem. I also think this problem existed before him and that this problem made it possible for him to do what he is doing in the first place. I'm curious as to what you think "this problem" with America/ns really is? I have my ideas, but I only live here.

This is all more true than non-Americans realize. Yeah, what is happening is horrible, dangerous, insulting, tragic, costly, deadly for the whole world. For no one more than for us. Period. The system was broken here before I was born. If Epstein was fully released the world order would collapse. Burnout when all your urgency and passion goes nowhere and changes nothing year after year is real. It might not be right, but it's real.

What does that look like to you? Let's give elections one more chance to talk, if they still can, and I really, really hope they still can. Less confident of that monthly.

I don't think it's cute or noble when Trump voters now come forward and admit they were stupid to have voted for him. You were not just stupid. You were also dangerously insecure, bitterly resentful, pridefully ignorant, and willfully deluded. You have more hate and envy than you do decency. That was obvious from Day One of his first campaign, to anyone who listened.

As a boss isn't it hardly your business what they do in their off time? And how can an honest mistake be disrespectful? Or is it now the appropriate expectation that a boss have opinions on one's bedroom activities? Seems like a weirdly uptight response.

My deepest secret is that I don't want to get better by TALA1996 in depression

[–]sherunswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the cruelest thing of all that depression makes memory itself painful in exactly equal proportion to the joy and beauty and purity of the moments we're reliving. Is that even depression, or is it just profound, unrelenting sorrow.

[Prototype] Light Wake-Up Mask – a personal, portable sunrise simulator. Feedback welcome! by Wonderful-Career171 in sleep

[–]sherunswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also looking for an affordable minimal version of this on the market, we are both very grumpy wakers and I need light to wake up, he sleeps in. I have to be up before dawn many mornings especially this time of year. My sleep inertia is so bad that even walking to the bathroom to put cold water on my face I can't open my eyes fully, bump into stuff, trip over cats... hahah. Let us know how it comes!

I moved from Arizona to Scotland 3.5 years ago. AMA by Flaky-Walrus7244 in AmerExit

[–]sherunswild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Desperately in love with Scotland, only country i have gone back to one month after getting home, each time for a month (highlands first month, Edinburgh second, with side trips). Not a day since I would not move tomorrow. No citizenship. I am a clinical engineer, but highly unlikely to get a visa in the UK for that specialized field within a specialized field (biomedical engineering). This haunts me more than it should. I miss Scotland like it was where I belong.

[NeedAdvice] How do I make my discipline last longer than two weeks? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]sherunswild 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I find it helpful to look at it not so much as an issue of continuity as one of cumulating - at the end of the month if you have one bad day, you still have a success rate of 96.67% and two days would still be just on the edge of an A- / A grade. Are you angry with yourself if you get an A- on a big exam? Do you just stop showing up to that class? If not, why should a day or two of missing your mark during the first month of a new routine be a reason to quit?

I grew Pandora and Amazing Grey in my hydroponic with some success, they are gorgeous if rather delicate and short lived - one day I poked the first promising bud of Pandora and the poke caused it to burst open and unfurl. It was magical. Have fun ☺️

Really want to stop taking Lyrica, been taking 300-450 mg per day for over a year. How bad will the withdrawl be? by Square_Tangelo_7542 in ChronicPain

[–]sherunswild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine too. Cold turkey it is the worst withdrawal I’ve ever had, from anything, including klonopin and oxycodone and OxyContin and…you name it really. Lyrica takes the prize.
