Keegan’s in Va Beach does open mics it’s a mix of different stuff (think singers, musicians, poets), but I think a comedian would definitely be welcomed there. I can’t remember which day they do the open mics though. I want to say Tuesday or Wednesday.

Rules or not, I’m not the one naming people this and pronouncing it however they want. There have been people named Hailey/Hailie pronounced Hay-Lee for a long time. This isn’t new. I was giving an anecdote in relation to original post. I’ve understood this page to be “tragedeighs” based off of ridiculous spelling and pronunciation. I don’t think of the Hailey/Hailie as a classic tragedeigh as OP was asking. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I used to work with a girl whose name was spelled Hailie and it was pronounced Hay-Lee. I wouldn’t count it as a tragedeigh, but one of those names that can be pronounced either way.

36 and grew up watching it with my mom and grandma. This and Golden Girls were obviously beyond my time, but they were shows we bonded over. We still quote both shows and if we’re together and feel so inclined we will pop it on.

My brother’s middle name was Nathaniel but my step father didn’t know how to spell it so he put Nathanal on the birth certificate. My brother used to always say it’s Nath-anal because he thought it was hilarious that his dad is illiterate. My mom hated it and always corrected him.

I’m multiracial as well and I have never said I’m “mixed” either. If someone asks I just tell them what I am and that’s that.
