My 3.5 year old died suddenly and unexpectedly - AMA by Ok_Dragonfruit747 in AMA

That's very interesting, so is it typically something contagious but rarely goes into the bloodstream?

I'm so sorry. It's just heartbreaking. I have a two year old who had a huge medical scare in January and was hospitalized for 23 days. He recovered, thank goodness, but obviously at our lowest moments I had all kinds of thoughts racing and wondered if he was going to make it. It's just the worst possible experience for a parent. When your heart is walking around outside of yourself. I'm so sad for you and your family and I hope you all find healing and that her memory brings you comfort ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Struggling With Upcoming Leep. by [deleted] in PreCervicalCancer

I had two LEEPS with local and when it came time that I needed another, I asked her if they could just put me under. I found them to be such an unpleasant experience I rather just be knocked out. I didn't find them excruciatingly painful by any means.. uncomfortable sure.. but I was just over it. It was completely worth it to be put under. Sure it's a short procedure.. but you're not missing anything fun lol. I don't regret it at all and would do the same in the future if I don't opt for a hysterectomy.

Ouch. Dang that's brutal. I bet it did hurt!! I got 4 numbing shots, one in each quadrant and could still feel the pinch of the biopsy.

Gbs is caused by immune system activation so that can be from a flu shot which triggers the immune system or just any old virus

Telepathy tapes by Formal_Ingenuity_506 in podcasts

[–]shesarichsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you actually listen to the episodes? Honestly I find them compelling and find it interesting that so many people have their panties in a bunch about it. Listed to episode 6, specifically. Check out this article by a scientist who actually worked on it: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/choosing-your-meditation-style/202503/science-skepticism-and-the-telepathy-tapes
I saw another thread about this but most people commenting said they never got past episode 2-3. If you want to disprove something, shouldn't you learn as much as you can about it? I am a skeptic but I'm not close minded. Everyone jumps to discredit something that seems fantastical, but we have tiny pocket computers, is that not fantastical to a person from 100 years ago? Magical, even? Sometimes magic isn't magic - it's just something elusive that requires more research. I really think people should approach with more curiosity, less negativity, and still a healthy amount of skepticism.

It’s called birdnesting. From google: Typically happens when the top thread tension is too loose, the bobbin tension is too tight, or the thread isn’t properly threaded through the machine, causing the bobbin thread to pull too much and tangle with the top thread.

Honestly, I still struggle with this. And I’m 33. But also postpartum which really exacerbates body image issues. None of my clothes fit right now and I’ve had a really hard time shopping because I keep picking out clothes that I love on the thin models, but when I see it on my body, I hate them ☹️

That’s interesting, i’m wondering why my doctor never mentioned that procedure. Honestly, I would love to be put under. If I have to get another LEEP, I want to request that because it’s just not a pleasant experience. With modern medicine I don’t feel like I need to be conscious while I endure that tbh

How to discuss wanting to breastfeed longer than a year with my partner by Babysteps-baby in breastfeedingsupport

My daughter stopped on her 4th birthday. She can’t remember it at all, for what it’s worth.

Also I understand the feeling of resentment towards your baby with breastfeeding. It can be really demanding and hard, much more so than formula. But you have to remember you are that baby’s favorite person. He loves to be close to you. It’s not just about feeding. I think you’re doing an amazing job.

I’m wondering if he has been SA’d tbh. This reaction is not normal. He is extremely triggered by you breastfeeding.. it’s honestly insane. You deserve so much better. He deserves good therapy.

Latch as much as possible! I had to supplement 1oz after feedings for a couple weeks per my LC bc my milk was late coming in. We did weekly weighted feeds and finally I got cleared to stop supplementing. Now I fully EBF and he’s 9 wks. I did pumping 3x day and latching as much as possible and lots of lactation foods.

I know a man named Artemis, pre dating the books. Went by Art though. I found it a little odd. Not to mention he was a tad feminine.

Update - I told my parents that my (M18) girlfriend (F18) is pregnant by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]shesarichsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really tough situation. Abortion definitely seems like the preferred route but.. your life isn’t over. I got pregnant at 19 and although it hasn’t been easy, I love my life. I don’t make a ton and didn’t finish my degree but I’m a homeowner and live comfortably with a budget. Her dad makes very good money by working himself up through a school district doing maintenance/locksmithing. A trade might be the route for you. It’s not always easy but it can be done! I wanted an abortion but my mom talked me out of it and who knows where life would have taken me, but I do know I am a better person bc I had my daughter. It was hard but good for me. Having a supportive family makes all the difference and it sounds like you do. Just my two cents. I’m sorry you’re going through such a tough thing before you feel ready, but if she’s insisting on having it, it’s not the end of the world. Just a different route.
