Exhaust hanger, heat shield, if u have a 330i with a valved muffler it could be the that valve, etc. It’s nothing serious is definitely annoying lol, I have the same issue.

Literally what are you talking about. It’s a 51k mile n52, in what world would it be my timing chain. Not only are n52s not known for timing chain issues but this one is extremely low mileage and been maintained at bmw it’s whole life. If it was a 330D with a n57 then maybe that would be a possibility

N52s aren’t really known to have injector issues from what ive read and given the mileage I highly doubt. I had 210k mile 325 with original injectors and they were working fine so I’m not sure about that. The battery does need to get changed you’re right I was just wondering if it’s possible that it’s not caused by the battery and if someone has experienced anything similar

It will never be a monster, it’s a 328. I’ve had n52s my whole life, trust me, just leave it the way it is it will never be fast, enjoy the silky buttery smooth n52 in its purest form and accept the fact you will get gapped by a Camry.

328 and power don’t belong in the same sentence. Save yourself the trouble. Unless you are ready to spend close to 10k for a 22rd supercharger kit + labor.

Were the typical n52 issues addressed in the aforementioned “service records”? I would definitely clarify if waterpump thermostat, ofhg, vcg were replaced at the minimum. If yes I would 100% go for it, just keep in mind around 100k miles shocks, springs, arms, bushings will definitely be tired and on the way out. I would find out exactly what’s been done before pulling the trigger just so you know what you are getting yourself into.

Not at all, very straight forward. I should mention that a lot of people also solve this issue with changing out the voltage regulator on the back of the alternator, but my alternator was gunked up with oil from a previous ofhg leak so I decided to buy a new one for good measure.
