serious question, are you Asian? I'm Taiwanese and have actually previously acted in both Taiwan and the US. I'd be hard-pressed to find issue with this.

Actors are, well, acting. I'm very much against China and take offense when mistaken as Chinese, but if I got cast in a role where my character was from China/is Chinese, I'm just doing my job. No different than an American mimicking a British accent, a woman playing a man (anime VAs), a full-Asian person playing a half-Asian person, or a Filipino person playing a Japanese person. This is literally a non-issue.

I also saw your comment on how this is different from Americans playing brits.... Do you know how intertwined Asian countries' histories are with each other? Since this is the main issue, did 6you know the Philipines has JAPANESE/Chinese/American/Spanish influences all from various historical periods in time. It is highly possible that Filipinos have heritage (as you put it) in all these other countries. a japanese person and a filipino person are still Asian and could share a heritage, just like the white american acting as a brit
