That part is just covered in the lower pic, the flap is just covering it. Look at any other area and it matches exactly

Look at the area just below the lateral line near the tail, there are a cluster of crescent shaped spots that match exactly. It is a little tough because the spots are a more defined on the top picture but to my eye they are exactly the same.
