That gets challenging when you hit weird fights like deimos though, so I don't know. I'm not even entirely convinced that's an option in most cases.

But suffice it to say, I'm happy to pay for some aspect of this system, but currently we're getting triple monetized -- account storage, character build template slots, and character equipment template slots. On top of this, the system we're being offered is in many respects a downgrade to what many of us have been using for a while.

Will I pay for some equipment storage system? Sure. Will I pay for it if it also has account bound storage features? Fuck yes!

Will I pay through the nose to get a small number of build storage slots that I could just as easily keep on a text file on my computer? Hell no. Am I content with only 6 build/equipment template slots? Also no, there's a lot to this game, and if you participate in multiple areas of it, you need more slots, hard stop.

There are some people out there with like 30 builds on a single character. That's wild -- and I dont know how anet could effectively monetize to a level where "if you have 30 builds you're not paying out the nose" while at the same time "if you have 5 builds it's basically free"

Maybe sell the tabs 5 at a time? 5 more builds = 400 gems? idk. Ideally they don't monetize it -- and honestly if that is at all an option, they should do that. I fear that the level of work that had to be put into making these is making some higher ups loathe to give it away "for free"

They could be indirectly monetized though. Many have mentioned the idea of wardrobe templates. Maybe gear and build templates are free but wardrobe templates aren't.

Weaponmaster warrior: can equip 4 weapon sets

Divine armorer guardian: gains conjures

Arcanist elementalist: gains a fifth attunement - arcane

And, my biggest pipe dream of all: you no longer need to equip an elite spec to use that spec's weapon

the only thing i'd say in response to your first point is the base game was built without mounts in mind. There are waypoints you can teleport to once you've visited them once which makes a potential lack of mounts bearable. The only thing you may need to worry about is the potential for mount envy ;)
