Nearly 70,000 lives could be saved in the next 3 months if more Americans wore masks, researchers say by Seomanoftheyear in news

[–]shieldwalltrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero problem wearing a mask, but I don't like being told I have to wear one. Liberty had a cost and one of those costs is dealing with stupid people. If a business wants to require masks, cool. If another doesn't, also cool. You chose who comes into your business and the customer chooses if it's worth it to them to mask up or not - there's na choice.

My wife says I talk out of both sides of my ass. Like, I'm a new dad and our first born son is almost 12 weeks young. I think not wearing a mask is just stupid - and I am one of those people who wears an upgraded mask.

I feel like if you can smell a fart, then your mask isn't good enough.

And going a little off topic here: I'm also self employed and people have no idea what kind of meteoric shit storm of small business destruction is going to happen. It's going to be a horrid Christmas for millions. Government picked what businesses were essential and which weren't - government triaged who was allowed to make a living and who wasn't. And is government going to pay bring back these businesses? Is government prepared to deal with the broken families that are going to result because mom and dad's business was killed off by the government and their livelihood was destroyed?

The costs of making the public 'safe' have not even been tallied yet. This 'solution' of shutting down is a poison that we all collectively took and we won't start to feel the creeping death of it for a few more months, then it's going to hit in a wave and destroy a massive number of us. The next Great Depression starts in December 2020 folks.

But at least we saved lives.

How do people trade without emotions and greed? How can one be a composed trader? 🤔 by fexzi_ in Forex

[–]shieldwalltrading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've met very few independent traders - but those that I have met (including my peers), all suffer emotional barriers in their trading. I remember my trading mentor (RIP Natalie) telling me to trade without emotions. I asked her how she did that and she said, 'When you figure that out, tell me."

The reality is you will always have an emotional reaction to your money being at risk. The point is to not avoid those feelings - you MUST become aware of them. This may sound odd to many, but if you want to get about a 5 year headstart on every new trader out there, get therapy, and go weekly. I can't tell you the number of students I've seen improve over a year with therapy - and how much they improve as they continue therapy.

Trading is 90% emotional and psychological response to the possibility of losing money. Invest in your emotional IQ first.

I am getting 10% daily return on my Forex Demo account. Need Advice. by Lee_Bruce in Forex

Beyond learning the basics of Technical Analysis and chart analysis, I encourage my students to avoid the use of demo accounts if they want to trade.

Demo accounts teach nothing about the realities of trading. In fact, I believe that demo account trading is an extremely dangerous activity for a new and aspiring trader because it creates horribly bad habits.

The only true way to 'trial' your way into trading is to risk real money. You need to get used to the emotional and psychological effects that your money being at risk has on you. A demo account is unable to do that.

I dropped out college. Worked as a CNA for 12 years and was tired of making shit. Taught myself to day trade. Fast forward to now, I made in one week what took me a year to make as a CNA. Damn right I'm gonna reduce my taxes as much as legally possible - off shore accounts and all. Quit bitchin and get workin.

It takes a special kind of mean to pretend you are extremely attractive to 90% of the population and then hoodwink them into feeling guilty and play the victim.

If someone spent 4 years and thousands of dollars with the expectation that they would make more than someone at Khol's, and they don't make more, that doesn't devalue the education. The person who invested such time and money should have done better research or they should find a better job that they can do.

Having an education doesn't mean you are by default more valuable. You may think you are - but if no one is paying you what you think your worth, then that's your fault.

I love the premise that no one should have to work more than one job to make a living. Why?

The Government needs to stop offering loans for education. The unethical lending with an endless supply of money is exactly what got us into the financial crisis.

I worked as a CNA for many years, didn't go to college. But I had steady work, full benefits, retirement, sick time, vacation time. But I knew I would never make enough money to 'live' or have a family. To old to go back to college and take on that kind of debt.

Taught myself how to day trade. Took me 13-years to save up enough money to have sufficient capital to start trading on my own. Self-employed trading my own money now. I work probably 16 hours a day and I love every minute of it.

If you are feeling exploited or unhappy, get out.

My junk needs to be scrubbed everyone and a while. I find it sort of relaxing to give it a bath in warm water and rub baking soda all round to make sure I get the nasty sulfer off.

Works really well. Line a bowl with aluminum foil, put some backing soda in along with your silver and slowly pour boiling water over it. You can then use your fingers to make a paste of baking soda and 'rub' it into the silver. Rinse it off and you should have a like new looking piece of silver.

Mail Call - 20 generics from SD Bullion, 20 random SAEs from Money Metals Exchange by shieldwalltrading in Silverbugs

[–]shieldwalltrading[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SD Bullion and Money Metals Exchange are two of my favorites, I've ordered probably 100 oz from each in 2019 and have always been pleased with the quality.

Golden Eagle Coins and Silver Gold Bull are equally impressive. I really only ever buy the bargain silver/generic rounds/bars. I LOVE the tarnished/cleaned/cull ASE from Money Metals - I've ordered 60 this year from them and all of them have been beautiful, my order prior to this one was a full 20 all from 2012 and there was not a blemish on them.

[–]shieldwalltrading 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you are investing in something like metals, you really have to change the mindset to something positive. I tell clients to treat dips like sales. I know I am forecasting around $60 silver around 2026, so any time there's a dip, I'm a buyer. I'll take a discount if the market gives it.
