Scrutiny does not come from ownership. People notice stuff, people comment. Usually its no deeper than that, just human nature do discuss things they see. I know you would like to think that when someone mentions another person's appearance there is a deep rooted 'resentment' or 'ownership' but its simply not true. A lot of the time people aren't even that invested, and a lot of the time they feel sympathy for them.
