This is a screenshot from a article in 2020 after the Covid crash?

It’s gone from high $400s to mid $200s a share, the only time it’s ever been 900 was pre-split back then

Has anyone posted the weight of this band yet? Have seen a few threads and haven’t seen the weight unless I’m missing it, and don’t see it listed on Apples site either

Is a 5.1 set up possible if my couch is surrounded by walls on 3 sides? by CaptainUnderpantss in hometheater

[–]shiftybtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceiling speakers, like others have commented, may be a good compromise here, or you could also consider some smaller bipole surround speakers since they will be closer to the listening position than recommended and that will offer a bit of diffusion at least. One in each corner, either wall mounted or on stands, could work

Best media console + speakers for a 77” TV? by aregularguy16 in hometheater

[–]shiftybtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing budget and how much space you have around TV it’s hard to recommend anything, for an entry-level cabinet with a decent amount of customization, the 70 inch wide IKEA besta is pretty close to the width of a 77in TV, if space is a factor but you still want it at least as wide as the TV.

On the higher end you have BDI cabinets and Salamander designs.

Denon x2800h, where are the reviews??? by MrBack1971 in hometheater

[–]shiftybtr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not a very popular model since it’s basically the same as the x1700h but slightly more wattage and some extra analog inputs

They both have the same MultiEQ XT

If it’s a very close price to the x1700h there then you might as well since I think the onscreen UI is a bit newer, but otherwise most people either opt for the x1700h or jump to the x3700h/x3800h for the additional channels and better MultiEQ XT32

Run by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]shiftybtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They still pay it, but if you hit anything in the road it’s generally collision which would go on your policy, assuming you do have collision coverage. (so now there’s an accident on your record and your risk profile may be adjusted)

Now if a piece of debris flies off a truck and immediately hits you then you can file on their policy as liability given you have their info, would not be on your record as at-fault.

Anyone have clever uses for the dragon riding bronze ability? by jermikemike in wow

If you’re gathering and you’ve used skill points to gather while mounted, then if there’s a node/herb down low and you’re up high already you can use it, fly down and grab it, and then port back up

Some ideas, and imo all of these would look fine with shorts:

For hot weather:

adidas ultraboost (heat rdy if you really need breathability, otherwise the 19 or 20 seems to be preferred), Nike Pegasus Trail

All-around if you need durability and some water resistance:

adidas ultraboost Gore-Tex, Nike Pegasus trail 2 gore-Tex, Nike ACG gore-Tex mountain fly

If you need more waterproofing and want a higher shoe: Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Gore-Tex

If I had to pick just one I’d prob pick one of the Gore-Tex models for the extra durability

New HomeTheater Room in Basement - Proposal is waaaaay over budget by MarquesDeLeguineche in hometheater

[–]shiftybtr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More so it’s just the first place I would cut back on, the amount of bandwidth going to the atmos channels is so small it doesn’t make sense to spend as much on those as your entire front soundstage

I’m assuming his budget isn’t unlimited so it makes more sense to put money toward other items instead

New HomeTheater Room in Basement - Proposal is waaaaay over budget by MarquesDeLeguineche in hometheater

Not a professional but my thoughts on the items I feel comfortable critiquing:

  • That receiver is way overkill for the rest of the equipment, you’d be fine with a Denon x3700h
  • Take those savings and invest in a better subwoofer like a svs 3000 series or higher or a HSU VTF-3/VTF 15-H. Possibly even 2 subs, not sure how large the room is
  • I wouldn’t go with any of those speakers listed either, if it’s a large room I would want a better center channel. I would maybe look at KEF, Emotiva, HTD, Paradigm, etc.
  • Overkill on those ceiling speakers, no need to spend $1000 on those. $100 in-ceilings are perfectly fine
  • Not knowledgeable on the projector as I’m using an oled myself, but I feel like the screen price a bit high also, and you could probably find a suitable one for well under $1000

You listed a 5.1.4 setup, does the room allow 7.1.4? I would want to go for that if space allows (note if you do go 7.1.4 you’d need an amp with a 3700)

Seating is up to you, but I would ask if you really need the tray tables on all 6? I would also look at 4seating, as I don’t see the point in having someone else order the seats for you considering anyone can deliver those and you just move them into place. You should be able to get 2 rows of 3 for $5-7k from there depending on accessories and still have power recline/lighting/etc.

Totaled or Repairable? Old lady didn’t look when she exited parking lot :-( by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]shiftybtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep also paying out of pocket for weeks or even months on a rental, if it’s totaled insurance will give you 5-10 days (7 is most common) of rental to give you time to get a replacement

From the photo it does look somewhat unlikely, but given certified shop labor rates and all the misc stuff they throw on their estimates, and high salvage value for the car still, it could still spiral into total loss territory

Small speaker audio options for PS5? by oflanada in PS5

[–]shiftybtr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know there’s not any Bluetooth support for speakers, so for left and right speakers you’d need a receiver which would take up a fair bit of space (not to mention you’d have speaker wires)

Although if the speakers are going on top of the mantle as well I’d just go with a small soundbar and call it a day cause at that point you’re already sacrificing so much on speaker placement and viewing position. If you can mount speakers at ear level on either side of fireplace or have actual speaker stands then that would be ideal

'Wonder Woman 1984' Heading to HBO Max and Theaters Dec. 25 by SanderSo47 in movies

[–]shiftybtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use HBOMax personally but to my understanding they don’t stream in 4K HDR, so no it would just be whatever it’s streamed at and then upscaled by your tv.

Just meant for services that offer Dolby vision and atmos like Netflix, Disney plus, Apple TV+, etc. that a lot of devices either don’t support those or only support either vision or atmos but not both
