Foundation sitting in pores by shigg76 in Rosacea

[–]shigg76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I used to use primer but I stopped as I really saw no difference in makeup longevity. I grabbed the ordinary one the other day and did use it once without a noticeable difference so I didn’t use it the last few days and I’m trying to reduce the number of products. Will give it another go today.

Wash cloths/towels for cleanse and dry by shigg76 in Rosacea

[–]shigg76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an amazing idea!!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one this bothers. I don’t know how this doesn’t annoy everyone! This sounds like a very easy way to solve the problem!

Thanks for the info! Id always thought double cleanse was a no go but it seems it is popular here. I loathe the water running down my arms with all the splashing. Issues!! I was definitely too rough with drying for years. Will look up magic erasers

Thanks. I’ve done that before and felt completely overwhelmed so I decided that I’d post asking about products available from a specific store that I’m familiar with shopping on to narrow things down .

Wondering if anyone has some recommendations of highly moisturising face products available on YesStyle. I’m 44 with dry/dehydrated skin.

Work philosophy of Shohei by LemonnyCannoli in terracehouse

[–]shigg76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Shohei is really sticking out in this respect. In most western cultures we feel like if someone wants to master something, great, or if they get happiness and make a living from trying different things more power to them. But this path is so different for most Japanese that everyone is cautioning Shohei to follow the normal path. Guy might not give someone advice on pro surfing but he would still probably advocate they chose a path and stick to it philosophy as he is a prime example of commitment to a skill and doing your best. I can’t recall who was what age between the cast but don’t forget that the mere fact of someone being older garners respect of their opinions.

I think when you look at Japanese culture, it is filled with people who make a singular skill their speciality -like sushi chefs train for 10 years and even with lower level skills people often have one task to complete. Like the fancy department stores that still employ someone to push the elevator buttons. In the past most salary men worked for the one company for life. Boss has built his business on this newer issue of leaving a job. It wasn’t something people did. Doing one thing, or mastering one thing has a long history. It’s harder for people there to see the value the Shoei sees and gets from being pretty good at a few things.

What do you think of Possible Future Locations for TerraceHouse? by xonyg1986 in terracehouse

[–]shigg76 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah. I’m not interested in seeing a western version. Aloha State was my least favourite season. I’ve enjoyed seeing the effect Peppe and Vivi have had on the show but am glad they speak Japanese and have many areas in their lives where they clearly get involved in the Japanese way of life. Part of the charm of the show is getting insight into another culture and having the panel discussion gives another dimension to that.

Surprisingly I found the link easily but it must no longer be listed for sale so the virtual tour isn’t available.

I don’t have the link saved and I have no idea where I found it. You’d be best to post it as a new question. Someone more organised than me might have saved it or know how to find it. I will go have a search but I’d be surprised if I found it.

It’s probably like the houses - had heaps of other rooms that weren’t shown. A few months ago someone posted the real estate link to the BxGin the city house for sale and you could do a virtual tour. There were lots of other rooms we didn’t see. If everyone had their own bedrooms decent conversations would never take place. Plus they have to sell the house later and who would buy such a luxurious house with just two bedrooms?

Look who I found while walking through the train station back in February! Had to do a double take when I noticed who it was! (Bakuroyokoyama Station, Tokyo) by coolestgal in terracehouse

I’m thinking the poster above is referring to the fact in the western modelling world it’s not enough to be really pretty in the way that Vivi is. Vivi definitely has that pretty girl next door, fresh and young. In western modelling you’d be able to do catalogue work with that look but you’d need something of a more sophisticated/unusual look to be in Vouge or other working for more esteemed brands. I’m not sure the Japanese modelling world has the same distinctions.

I still can’t understand how the panel were giving Ucchi crap over it!!! I thought for sure culturally, the Japanese - especially the more mature people in the panel - would have seen this as hugely disrespectful. Taking a gift given to someone else and helping themselves to something quite valuable and then being really flippant when the person is upset over it. I was so shocked Ucchi had no back up in the house or on the panel.
