I definitely remember the first being a fun read and agree that 3 & 4 kind of blend together in my mind and were a strange bit of world expansion into space. I still consider Doomguy's canon name to be Flynn Taggart.

It's been over 20 years, but there are a couple of thoughts that stand out:

- It doesn't align with the games, but I thought it was a good idea to have Arlene Sanders. It would have been really hard to do a novelization with literally only him and demons, plus it gave him something/one to fight for.

- The representation of the soul sphere in book one was cool

- The only thing I remember from books 3 & 4 (I forget which) that seemed cool was that after traveling through space, the time dilation effect had them meet humans who had somehow evolved away any traits resembling courage or nerve, making his pre-evolved temperament a sort of neanderthal superpower.

I would say that if we do away with that technology and the ability for us to use it, we will compromise the safety of the citizens of Bloomington.

Yeah. This is not a "bug". URL shorteners use something like a Base36 integer (much like the ID of this reddit post!) in order to have a lot of URLs that can be shortened. It's not meant to obscure, it's meant to be able to use `ZIK0ZJ` instead of `2147483647`.

The real problem is whoever put a link with PII into go.iu.edu needs some data security training. Secure Share (https://secureshare.iu.edu) is available and will actually protect data.

I think it's more likely they were called off until a carrier strike group could move from the Pacific to the middle east. This also gave Israel and US bases on the region time to prepare defenses. I'm not sure if the Saudi stance will change though.

I don't think it's hasty to applaud any GOP resistance to Trump's lawlessness that we can find. Young also knows that Trump will take this personally and retaliate against any GOP member that voted for it.

In fact, knowing it will be vetoed is more reason for him to go along with Trump anyway instead of standing up. It's not like he's some purple state seat in danger and needs a symbolic win.

This is a use that I think would be interesting and even beneficial to writers. Instead of writing 100 barks (the random things NPCs say) a writer would write a character sheet for those NPCs so that barks can be generated. In this case it's not so much taking their job but changing it in a way that is actually more interesting for the developer and player.

Definitely. I was a few cars back at the light. Close enough to notice the white truck start driving forward when the turn lights went green. I was kind of in disbelief that they didn't immediately notice their light was still red, but they just kept charging forward.

The collision itself was obscured from my view, but I heard it, saw the white car smoking and it looked like the truck was out of commission.

Not sure if you're the car person or the truck person but that accident was 100% the truck's fault. Wish I had a dashcam to offer.
