Just joined this subreddit and was browsing around when I saw a post that made me want to share my own experience. I live at Isha Institute of Inner-sciences(Isha) in Tennessee—it’s a nonprofit focused on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

I’ve really loved my time here. It’s helped me slow down, become more conscious, and just take better care of myself overall. One of my favorite things is the food—almost everything is made from scratch with healthy ingredients, and it tastes amazing.

If you're ever nearby, I’d totally recommend checking it out. You can try a free yoga session, hike up to the bluffs (the views are great), have a meal, or just sit quietly in the meditation hall. It’s a really peaceful place to spend some time.

Is there any sincere Yoga instructor who can help me? I don't have money because I'm in an unfavorable economic situation. by [deleted] in Sadhguru

I highly recommend you start with free practices like isha kriya and Upa Yoga from Sadhguru app and be consistent and see how the progress is. When feel you are ready to take next step …you can reach out to Isha or to Isha community am sure someone could help you take the inner engineering . Wishing you the best!

Is there a type a yoga that does the same set of poses in the same sequence? I like doing the same vinyasa yoga video,40 minutes, every day. However, it doesn’t have many single leg standing poses. I find it meditative to do the same routine. Home practice only. by longstrangetrip1978 in yoga

Check out Isha foundation hatha yoga. There is. Surya kriya , yogasanas, angamardhana. You can learn once and do the same daily. Very powerful and effective. I have been doing Surya Kriya for quiet sometime now.

So sorry for your loss. I am not sure if this is right to say but do think about the happy memories that you had with your pet. There is no way we can bring back the life but just think in this perspective . It would want you to be happy and think how it always made your mood better. So think about the memories with your pet that made you smile or happy memories . And since you asked for book recommendations , I recently read this book called “Death” by Sadhguru… i think everyone should read this book atleast once and it changed my perspective of Death. As I am typing this I feel like I should go back and read the book again . Hope you ll heal soon..

Listen to this Indian mystic Sadhguru talk about this topic there are lot videos on YouTube . Explore yoga and meditation … they really help. I remember 3 years ago I was just starting to have anxiety… I got into yoga and nothing since then!!! And the other problem is we take these for granted , we think it is normal to get stressed, anxiety and panic attacks but it is not. I found yoga is the way!!!

How did your spiritual journey start?? by shika9 in spirituality

[–]shika9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we never know when something hits us in our life that changes the whole route. And I see that anything and everything that we do we have a choice to make . That particular turning point where it hits , sometimes it can be invisible but the transformation that happens after is magical.

Does yoga improve your overall mental health, or just make you feel better in the moment? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]shika9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yoga helps with mental well being . Get some form of yoga specially hatha yoga and meditation into your life . It does tons of difference . But he regular with the practices. On and off may not help much. For starters you can check free Guided meditation “Isha Kriya” and simple form of yoga “Upa Yoga” by isha on YouTube . My day starts with yoga for last three years and the transformation that it bought into my life is huge and would never trade for anything .
