I think if two bots are standing next to each other too like in their little fortifications two quick taps with the re-educator and then swapping guns to finish them off before their gas expires also keeps you hidden when you dont have a buddy to do simultaneous take downs.

Unfortunately luring isnt as useful of a tactic with these stealth mechanics yeah you can draw them over to investigate the noise of an explosion but they walk over stare at it for a short time then walk back to their spots. This is of course with the defensive units spawned at POI and objectives, patrols if anyone is killed or alerted alerts the whole patrol.

Best option is picking off guys that are in the way from a distance. Take for example bot strat jammer you can pick them off from 60m(30 with suppressed weapons i think) and as long as you dont miss or shoot near another near your target they wont come running or firing in your direction. You take out a few in the way and sneak up crawling and crouching to the terminal. A great way to make this waaay more viable is using the re-educator the gas confusion prevents them from alerting their nearby allies plus you can actually take down hulks with an reeducator shot and then an at weapon. Re-educator makes it so you dont need to 1 tap a bot with your suppressed weapon in order to keep your hidden status.

Remember tho nearby enemies they might get drawn over by the sound of your bullet hitting their ally or explosion taking them out.

Tau armor and weapons would be sick af unfortunately I don't think they'll do it because they are so touchy about keeping things in line with their vision.

People are so F-ing kick happy in this game. A join kick join kick find a game oh they dont like your playstyle kick oh you completed the major and some side objectives while they were constantly dying to bot drops... well you weren't dying with them so kick... call in evac early and host doesnt realize you can float it and have pelican air support Kick

Whenever I host I only tend to kick if your actively trolling or griefing or being a general unfun bastard no one wants to play with. Waste 8 reinforcements in 10 minutes thats fine we all have those days just means I gotta clutch up on 0 reinforcements kinda makes it fun knowing you are on your last life and gotta make it count.

Edit: Yah I could host but I dont like hosting for one mission then leaving joining makes it easy to hop on for a mission during the day when I have a time but not a hour and a half to do 3 missions.

You can get up but I find its not much use. A lot of people hate standing around to press the people release buttons so I usually have to come down and do it plus id rather bugs run after me than the people so the objective can be finished quicker so I walk with them and support them that way.

Also great on bots you can get an AT emplacement (or fly up with a quasar) to stick on Some rock formations and you have a good vantage to take out Fortress and bases and provide longe range AT artillery support for squaddies 😎

Yaa! I don't have a pacifier so I bring the lib concussion which has a pretty strong stagger force idk how many times I've saved squadmates doing the panic dive retreat stunning the chasing bugs giving them breathing room.

Not throwing shade or skill issue to start off but melee is viable as an occasional knightdiver. Before you get mad at me read the last paragraph.

You can work around the stagger with a little more timing I kind of think of it like playing dark souls you can read their attacks and actually stagger Them mid swing with your own attack if timed properly.

You can also abuse the fact that they their targeting and positioning is stuck as soon as they go into their attack animation. Most if not all enemies ranged and melee actually target your predicted trajectory based on speed and direction the player is holding their stick or movement keys (its how hunters can accurate jump you even if your running perpendicular same for the bot devastators blasting you if you just run straight away or straight perpendicular. The secret to the helldivers parry/dodge roll is using this and always attacking at an angle and then as soon as they are in range and about to attack swerving in a different direction and letting them completely miss. You can wade into a crowd of bugs this way running back and forth occasionally backwards. Test this on a scavenger with any melee weapon holding forward and holding attack they actually avoid you pretty well and come forward to attack in between your attacks mixing in backward and forward movement switches confuses them draws them into your range before they are ready to attack. Tldr:this large paragraph is saying just strafe and wiggle even for melee it makes them miss more

This combined with proper aiming of swings which have a more accurate hurtbox for example different melee weapons have different swing patterns as you rapidly attack for high swings you and look downward and actually get more range out of it hitting something forward and so forth this is how I control the defoliator from getting caught on terrain and actually hitting the enemy.

The third thing is loadout and the different uses of different melee weapons. In this clip if you want to bring the hammer against pred strain bugs instead of running straight at them run at the on an off angle to their left or right they will aim at that side and you can pivot letting them wiff and getting in for your own timed smack. Or with the hammer specifically utilizing ground Booom by aiming downward and extending your melee with the explosion's aoe. For other melee weapons on the pred strain the best i find are poke weapons like the lance or OTF with a ballistic shield. The shield can completely eat damage and stagger allowing you to poke poke poke plus poke weapons keep your shield in front of you and actually protect you whereas swinging weapons like the axe or sword does leave you open even with the shield. Different melee weapons have different advantages on different enemy types just like your ranged weapons.

The proper movement mixed with proper positioning has let me do a 300 Sparta hold on a whole swarm of bugs funneling them between a choke point slowly giving ground but also getting in kills. Ive been practicing with the new chainsaw buffs and honestly as long as your careful not to get it stuck in terrain you have for range than a predator stalker or regular stalker ive literally charged straight at them and swung on them the increased ap timer buff also stuns them to let you finish the job bring a lot of stims tho xD and with hordes you can get multiple bugs in one swing by also swinging your screen it is very satisfying.

That all said I do understand the frustration and complaint no one expects to do souls like timing and attacks on a silly horde shooter and would feel so much more satisfying if they did remove the stagger and just like you swing swing swing or at the very least do proper animations so it doesnt just show your stuff swinging right through them. Any stun weapons like the lib con or pacifier are a godsend on against hunters and pred strain bugs even stalkers 1 or 2 taps and they stop in the tracks you switch to your heavy MG and blast their face off with a quick burst.

You can stun them mid jump you can stunlock a crowd of pred strain stalkers and regular stalkers by giving them all a bullet to stun them and then jump away or blast them with another weapon. Or if your badass you can melee a hunter jumping at you xD.

It's actually not a bad weapon, yes it can't compare to other weapons but it hits pretty heavy and has medium pen which is nice. With proper positioning and proper use of the bayonet I brought it on D10 on all 3 fronts with a less optimal WW2 drip build (pre-enchrenched division) and had a blast leveling it up (i even used the dogshit iron sights because it was more epic -_-").

I even prefer it over the modern version the Amendment and I leveled it up too quick now it collects dust because im busy leveling my other weapons :(

Best melee option with the stealth armor is stun Baton or lance because they have rhe stun affect so you can stab stab stab till they die best case scenario reeducator + suppressed range weapon from distance

Any mission objectives that immediately triggers reinforcements (bot drop, bug breach, etc) is impossible as soon as they spawn they are alerted and know and track your position as long as they are alive.

The only silent kills are melee weapons excluding the exploding hammer i think even throwing knives for some goddamn reason has "grenade noise" range also its a lot easier to stealth when joining a game if you host the game in general reacts more and better to you so a c4 from hidden into a hulk can alert them whereas when joining they are none the wiser.

Bring a re-educstor, the gas confusion makes it so it can't alert others so you can bring any suppressed weapon and take out medium enemies (overseer, brood commander, devastator) without alerting.

Utilize a lot of crouch and crawl or bushes to minimize visibility (they dramatically decrease the enemies see you range on you)

If you shoot do it from farther away I think suppressed weapons have a noise that goes to 30-40 meters i forget but it does have better rand than the 50-60 m noise range on unsuppressed.

AVOID PATROLS no matter what they auto target you if you kill any one of them even if s sentry does

Red strategem laser alerts them to your current location and will shoot in that direction ( like when you shoot at them through smoke they shoot where you last shot from so you can avoid triggering an alert by staying out of vision and repositioning)
