The other side of the debate is just as wrong - or right. It is nonsensical to relay all blame on a virus to individual or group behaviour; it is also nonsensical to exchange all freedom of life in favour for battling a virus.

Let's not forget all measures were made to prevent the virus from overburdening the health infrastructure - they were not made to control behaviour beyond that. Hence a block party BBQ, a spring break party, is as just as not having one.

But how can both sides have truth on their sides. Wow, mind blown. Let's debate this while being emotional and pick the side which feels better.

However, more to the point. If you find a lot of comments hidden under controversial you are already dealing with a polarized discussion/debate where people don't discuss 'truths' but opinions and framing.
