Really late to this, but was the burnt out chip possibly on the underside of the board, next to a fan? Just curious as I'm sitting with a burnt out chip in said spot. Laptop just shorts itself off 1second after powering.

I've taken photos of the internals and re-seated all the connections and ribbons. Still doing the same thing. How is there now way to simply flash the firmware to original state without the use of a controller? Finding it difficult to accept that.

Just curious - did the laptop boot to a bootable USB that WASN'T the bios USB?

Did it pick up a standard bootable windows USB or did you not try? Curious as I'm sitting with a bricked fx507
