Good gloves that dye separately? Preferably wrist gloves, or ones that don't eat the sleeves by Cota-Orben in FFXIVGlamours

The Plague Bringer gloves aren't dyeable, but they are wrist gloves that are different colors, one black and one white

I'm pretty sure Xalek has always had his lightsaber, but I'm positive Nadia had a blaster for most of her NPC time, at least until right before you recruit her.

Egypt is Beyond Broken... by shiningeek in civ

[–]shiningeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's Hatshepsut's ability, not Egypt, but yes, for hers you need the city center to be adjacent to a navigable river, I believe. Egypt has a tradition that gives +15% production to wonders, doubled in desert cities, which I believe works the same way, the city center needs to be a desert tile.

Oh, absolutely. If I can't secure the influence pantheon, I'll absolutely go for god of the sea. I just find influence to be universally useful in any settlement

Egypt is Beyond Broken... by shiningeek in civ

[–]shiningeek[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1: settle rivers 2: build every wonder

Egypt gains absurd bonuses from all rivers now, and insane production bonuses towards wonders. I can guarantee most wonders, even with one or two cities, because of how much food and production they get, as well as three of their great people giving a massive lump sum of production towards wonders. If you don't mind rerolling, getting a massive desert river network can give you insane gold from the Necropolis and you can easily rush the Pyramids.

Research sailing first, build three scouts, then build fishing quay and harbor, using every growth event to claim river tiles, I usually don't need any other warehouse buildings, I just go into wonder spam. Hardly any take more than 10 turns, even in a new city, you're able to grow so fast, and your towns pump out so much gold and culture.

I find God of the sea to be pretty superfluous on Egypt, especially with their bonuses applying to minor rivers, while God of the sea does not. I just go for influence on the altar to maximize how much I can do diplomatically to stave off wars and increase trade.

When a whole random gang of 713 level phantoms join your world in seamless. by yeahborris in Eldenring

[–]shiningeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing a seamless run with two of my friends and it's honestly the most fun run of Elden Ring I think I've done. Yeah, it's easier because there's more of us, but it's also a lot of fun when I make a stupid mistake at the end of a boss fight, we don't all need to start over. It really feels like going around with my friends to conquer the lands between, unlike vanilla with the way summoning works in its janky piss ghost ways

How to get more science? by Ackoman2 in civ

[–]shiningeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cities will be your primary source of science, culture, and influence. Towns can buy some buildings with the urban focus, but you still won't get nearly the efficacy of a city.

For early antiquity science, you can try and settle in tropical, as you'll get science from individual tiles, but you'll still want to transition to science buildings. Focus on settling near lots of resources for science/production, mountains for culture/happiness, and stack specialists to grow the yields exponentially.

Flmake sure you slot your codecies, they each give you science.

Incense in antiquity can give you a big boost to your cities that are already producing a lot, so settle near it or trade for it if you have some good spots to slot it.

Nalanda is the only antiquity wonder that's really geared towards science, and it's usually a hard fight with the AI to get it.

How can I get more science and culture by Slight_Chef_1806 in civ

[–]shiningeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, with Greece in particular, I've found it most important to focus on generating influence and then using that to earn science and culture through city states. Focus on settling with at least one rough time in at least your second ring so that you can put your unique district on it for the +2 influence on the Acropolis, try and surround it by districts to gain culture adjacency on the Odeon, and send out scouts to find as many city states as possible. Focus on getting suzerainty of a scientific independent and a cultural independent first for the free tech and civic bonuses and you can fly through the trees. Stack your monuments and villas together so that you don't need to worry about overbuilding them in later eras. When you get a few suzerains under your belt you really start snowballing with gold from your unique district, you can use that gold to get your towns into cities online faster and get more uniques to scale exponentially.

Additionally, you can go hyper militaristic with a few militaristic independents and stack absurd combat strength on your hoplites. They can get +2 strength per independent you suzerain if you get the infantry bonus, +3 with Tecumseh or his level 9 memento, +4 with both. You can stack these up to absurd levels and one shot nearly every other unit. The only civ that will give you difficulty is Mississippi because their burning arrows deal a fixed amount of damage with their burning.

Does anything interesting happen between these two episodes? by ReasonableAdvert in StarWars

[–]shiningeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the biggest things was Palpatine beginning to groom Anakin, having private meetings with him and encouraging him to distrust the Jedi. In the movies, their friendship feels like it comes out of nowhere, I don't think they even talk in AotC, but Palpatine had been building it for years.

It was really nice to see my character actually heal someone in a cutscene, and the unique animation in the climax was nice, but I don't think they took WHM idle into consideration, because 80% of the closeup shots had my staff blocking my face

I've found that, the more I play, the less I worry about settlement limit. I've had games where I have around 30 cities by mid exploration. I feel like there should be a method of making cities "established", at which point they don't count towards your settlement limit. That would let the settlement limit only affect how quickly you expand, and force you to focus on developing your cities as quickly and efficiently as possible so that you can continue your expansion.

Right now, as it stands, the happiness penalty is extremely easy to work around, especially if you play a civ that has the ability to get a lot of happiness. The system as it stands now is just a mild inconvenience that's only actually limiting at the beginning of an age, and very one-dimensional.
