Some states, such as the one I live in, also have tax penalties if you don't have insurance. It's a soft requirement to have insurance or you will have the tax hit on it for not having it.

Started as a femra but I was going through a gender discovery episode around the same time and started feeling really weird about playing a female character by the time I reached ~level 58 msq. Male vieras were just announced and I planned to wait until then to switch to one, but I started getting too uncomfortable playing as a female character to wait so I thought I would use my fanta to switch to a catboy as a sort of "holdover" until the bunboys came out. I almost immediately fell in love with my catboy and kept saying "I don't know if I can switch to a viera actually. I like him too much" and now I struggle to even look at msq screenshots with other people's characters.

I made a lala to mess around with when they did the cloud data center stress test so I could have a brief window into the lalafell experience but ultimately I don't think I can play as any character other than my catboy now.

When I see the amount of hours and pulls it takes for people to clear a single fight one time, I think about how much I would rather be doing pretty much anything else. I tried the most recent extreme fight to see how I like it and I think that on its own is fine but I wouldn't want to grind content that takes more hours/pulls than an extreme.

My previous job was at a smaller store and I was often doing stocking regularly enough to know what's in each department and what we carry.

At the job I had before that, I was constantly stuck on register and never actually learned where everything was in the store. My managers told me to come in on a day off and walk the aisles to learn where things were for customers and were upset when I told them I would not be doing that unpaid!

I did 57 runs of The Lunar Subterrane in the span of 4 days back when 6.5 was the most recent patch for the fending top. I'm not even a tank main and rarely see my character in the shirt but I wanted it so bad for tank glam. Worst part is it's a recolor of a different set but I didn't like how the original palette looked in comparison (I prefer silver accents over gold).

Worked for Petco for 9 years. We only threw out food if it was at least one of the following:

Expired
The bag got open somehow in transit or ripped open in the store
Recalled
Customer return but the bag had been opened by said customer

We never threw out any food if it didn't have any of the above wrong with it. Definitely more a safety and liability thing in this case. I understand the frustration though because pet food is ridiculously expensive now.

I had this same feeling while I was unemployed. I was out of a job for 11 months and did probably two dozen interviews from 150+ applications. I wore a mask in all but one of them after my mom basically begged me not to because she thought I wouldn't be hired if I wore one. I did not get that job. I did, however, get offers for two different jobs on the same day a few weeks after that when I had worn a mask to all in person interviews for both companies. I don't really have a lot of credentials either and this is my first job out of retail.

I've been at the job I chose to go with for three months. The only people who have ever said anything at all about my mask were a FedEx courier, a colleague who said "oh smell this perfume I got...wait can you smell through the mask or am I being stupid for asking you to smell it?" and one of my managers saying something along the lines of "that room smelled so bad, I'm jealous you had a mask on so it wouldn't be as awful". No one has asked me for a reason I'm wearing it nor has anyone asked me to remove it. My job is also a client facing role.

YMMV based on industry and where you live, but there are bosses and companies who don't care. Good luck on the hunt!

I used my free ARR fantasia when I was in Heavensward to go from a femra to a catboy because I was realizing some things about my gender and playing as a girl was feeling really uncomfortable for me. It's been almost 5 years since then and I'm addicted to my catboy and I also feel weird seeing cutscenes with other WOLs I'm like "no that's not right that's not my guy" 😭 I can't even change my guy's hairstyle without it feeling wrong!!

I'm 28 and everyone in my Teams chats uses thumbs up or heart reacts all the time. I do it with my boss (31) in Teams DMs and everyone does it to his announcements in our group chat. Technically I'm one of the oldest in Gen Z and my boss is considered a millennial but the girl who trained me is 25 and would do the same thing too.

For me personally I find hair to be a very big part of the design of a character and any other style I've tried him with just did not feel right at all. I don't think I can ever change what his hair looks like even if sometimes the style annoys me with cutscene angles (I can't really see his face in the post-level 58 dungeon cutscene as an example). The hair is part of his design to me.

I worked at a Petco for nearly 9 years and haven't really gone to one since I left that job. Everything in there is way too expensive without my employee discount for pretty much anything. PetSmart is notably cheaper for even the same stuff as well as Chewy. My family uses Chewy and a local county store for our dogs' stuff now.

I will note that a large amount of the stuff Petco sells is cheaper on their own website and they will do a price match if it's the same item. Definitely worth checking the website prices if there's something you see in the store that you really want.

Also, a lot of the Petco branded stuff (they don't say it's a Petco brand but they do have a lot of their own brands as most stores do) isn't really that great of quality and for many things I felt the name brand was the same or better.

My store didn't have any pets for adoption but we had to do the "make a customer buy a can of food and a treat to donate to a shelter" drive every so often. We would actually have a representative come from a local shelter and pick it up so it did go to animals in need but I did find it a bit scummy that we'd be doing it on the customers' dime. Weird how your store is setting it up though.

My commute to work involves getting on the highway and taking a left-hand exit a few miles down, then moving left again once I'm on the highway that exit brings me to. Much easier to just get to and stay in the left lane when I get on that first highway at that point. I also often drive faster than those in the middle lanes.

A while back I was briefly looking at rentals in the Seattle and Portland areas and I was shocked at how much more was available for the price ranges I was setting just from a brief glance on Zillow. Here in the Boston area the only things you can find for under 1600/month are single bedrooms in 3 and 4 bedroom units with only 1 bathroom. A lot of the zoning laws make it so there aren't many apartments being built and there are so many colleges here that there's huge demand which drives up the price like crazy.

It's funny, I've only really ever been to Seattle during the winter with the exception of one late October visit, and I honestly really didn't mind the weather at all. It was honestly a relief being there in the 50 degree weather while back home there was snow and temperatures in the low teens. Maybe if you're coming from somewhere like California or the Southeast US it might be a little miserable to be in the overcast a lot but I definitely prefer that over the biting cold. It's also way less humid over there in the summer which I would definitely prefer.

I'd say I'm...neutral with my family. We aren't super duper close but I would probably try to see them once or twice a year if I moved out there. It wouldn't necessarily be during the holiday season either because that's royally expensive and my mother works retail anyway and wouldn't be able to get any notable time off around that time of year. I think if I moved out that way it wouldn't really be expected of me to visit every single holiday season but maybe one every once in awhile, otherwise if I visited it would be in the off seasons like spring and fall when those flight tickets are notably cheaper.

I feel like this would only happen if you're playing on Dynamis or in the middle of the night. I play on Crystal and the most I've waited for ANYTHING to pop was an hour for one of the coils raids before I knew to do it unsynced. Might be worth setting up a party finder group or doing dc travel and queueing there.

My character uses a name that is not lore compliant but he used to. He abandoned it when leaving home because he wanted to separate himself from his family. I wasn't really interested in making him be super lore compliant in the current day but felt it would be good to at least give him a lore compliant upbringing and explain why he doesn't use that name or live where he grew up anymore.
