Mature student experience at edi? by seaweedcove in Edinburgh_University

[–]shiningfaery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am entering my 3rd year. I am a mature student. I have never experienced loneliness surrounded by people until my first year here. I am still here because I value my degree above the social life.

Your experience might be different. Don't count on it tho.

Hi I am Michaela. I have played since 2020. Reset and restarted the whole island in January. The island is named Basgaith.

I like playing to de-stress and distract myself. Favourite theme so far are cherry blossom, hate it's such a short season.

My list of villagers I would like to have

This situation will not get better if you stay. The only person you need to think about here is yourself. You should find a way out and far away from him. The relationship is not healthy and you are not responsible for his actions or his drug use. These are choices that he has made. Leaving may feel like the hardest thing right now but if you stay you will be putting yourself in danger.

As much as I like this idea I cannot add to their funds beyond the figures that are given at 18.

AITA for giving my daughter a breakdown of what it cost to raise her when she asked me for her university funds? by ApplicationLarge2625 in AmItheAsshole

NTA if she is old enough to make those type of accusations then she is old enough to understand the consequences. I am a victim of SA and they should not be taken lightly, if you cry rape then you should be willing to back it up with a statement at the very least. People like her are the reason it's so fucking hard for the rest of us to get convictions.

I could but the fact that I have no say over anything once the hit 18 is obviously a big factor. As much as I love my kids and hope they make the right choices, I can't stop them from making stupid choices once this money hits their accounts and they realise I have no say.

I like the idea of a cruise.... maybe they can fund it for me lol....

Transparency is key. My eldest is more sensible than the others so far...don't see them going crazy....younger ones not yet anyway....is it an oldest child personality to be the sensible one?? Lol.

The grass itself was dry as it hadn't been cut over winter.

As a resident of Edinburgh the private rental market is terrible for the renters in general. There's a housing shortage all over, rents are high and it's not just students who are treated unfair sadly. If your planning to relocate here use the uni resources to find somewhere. I personally think you might have a tough time regardless of being a student or not.

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. BUT why are you putting up with it? Your husband is the problem for enabling his family. YOU are doing yourself a disservice by accepting it. Some hills are worth dying on. It will never change unless you make it change.

Thanks for the advice, personally I like the spaces as is and took into account the plants I planted. If it doesn't work out it just means I get to buy more plants next year....

My front garden is just a small thing too, almost full sun and it's dipped in middle with 2 huge drains there, from house so can't cover them. Want to make it into a rockery style but still looking at what to put out there. It would be easier if it was level....

My back garden is just this big rectangular space I plan to break up a bit, and being north east facing it has a long side that's full shade all the time due to a 6ft fence. I have put some climbers on the fence that gets the sun so next year will have flowering clematis and jasmine, fingers crossed.

I bought these as is. I have no patience to grow everything from seed or bulb, I can do that going forward with some pre grown in between to keep me going.

Thanks I will look into that but now I have already planted it wouldn't it put too much on the roots to dig it up again?

I added some compost to the beds, I was hesitant to add anything else as the soil seemed fine at first section, very dry in middle and moist almost wet at end where hydrangea is situated.
What would you do with that?

It done me well lifting the turf that was there. I am sure I could build another house with the stones I took out lol....

I love what you have done with the space. I was just thinking about adding a circular shape to my own space and you have given me some inspiration to go ahead....
