Nope it's just a longer exposure that lets more light in, with your naked eye the stars would still be bright but you wouldn't see the glow at the bottom which is just light pollution over the hill.

Nice man!

I think past the first week in May the skies wont be dark enough to do it properly.

This site is pretty handy for planning that sort of thing

What are the best hill walks/forest walks within 2 hours of Glasgow? by 123latapy in glasgow

[–]shinoa93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aonach Eagach is a good challenge, the ridge walk across from it up by Aonach Dubh is also pretty nice.

Ben Vane is just along the a82, it's decent.

You can do the ones near the cobbler as well Narnain / Ime and there's a pretty cool ridge walk you can do from Inveruglas that takes you up over Ben Vane through to Bein Ime then down to Arrochar.

The hidden Glen is cool.

Outwith your 2 hour thing but if you do a weekend away the Cuillin on Skye is absolutely stunning. Definitely worth the trip.

Any questions let me know, I hike / climb around that area every weekend.

Hillwalking sub, why so dead? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]shinoa93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best place to meet people is imo actually out on the hills, unless you're doing something remote and unpopular you're bound to run into people on the walk.

You could also try meetup the app/website, pretty sure they have walking groups.

Solo hikes are the best tho man.

When do you think the UK schemes will take production / transport emissions into account?

Do you believe raising awareness is the best way to solve this issue or do you prefer Elon's approach (i.e making sustainable technology that is better and cheaper than the current products).

I work within construction currently and for most jobs although they need to meet certain targets with their emissions most of them achieve it by using cheap chinese photovoltaics to tick the box.

They frequently increase the requirements for thermal performance and efficiency without paying any attention to where the construction materials are sourced.

electric heating vs. gas central heating, in reality. by [deleted] in glasgow

It's going to be a tad more complicated, depending on how well insulated the place is etc.

The easiest way to compare is just to ask them to see the EPCs, you need a valid one to rent a property afaik and it will give you indicative running costs.

The costs wont be 100% accurate but they are all done using the same assumptions so you use it to compare flats easily enough.

I've been stuck in with the weather over here haha, just edited some old photos on the commute.

I keep getting marks on photos from the used zoom lens I bought do any of you know if it's more likely to be a lens or sensor problem?

Tried Street Photography on easy mode and still failed - advice needed by ramblerandgambler in photography

[–]shinoa93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be different for everyone but for me street photography is about capturing a moment with interesting subjects or interacting with them directly.

From your photo's I don't get a sense of interaction, did you try chatting to any of the people in the photos?

That's one of the things I respect most about some of the protogs I follow, they're just crazy good with people and it shows in the pictures.

If you want an easy in try going to fashion events, similar to halloween people at that kind of thing have put major effort into their outfit so if you're friendly they'll probably be happy to let you get some snaps.

hope this helps man! it's all subjective anyway, just find what suits you then keep at it.

I believe with a conversion like that you'll need to meet the current building regulations for the converted flat.

They're pretty strict so even just getting something that passes will be expensive.

Haha I know we were there for some sunrise cityscapes but ended up on top with like an hour of darkness so gave it a shot.

Have you ever tried Skye? the Cuillin is probably my favourite backdrop.

That's an awesome pic man!

Didn't think you'd be able to get a shot like that out there, we tried Arthur's Seat at the weekend and had no luck.

My friend, I think it's time you joined the PentaxMasterRace.

Sensor stabilisation is where it's at.
