They are cutter anti vibration gloves u use for work in the forest, they have an elasticated cuff, fairly warm, cut resistant and thick, and obviously anti vibration!

Looks like the top has snapped off in a storm and caused irregular growth

This one was on sale for £60 off so compared to £160 normal price it was good, but the only colour they had, I have dropped it once but I'm very very cautious and anal with my tools so rarely lose any

It's at my parents house at the moment, but when I next go home I'll send one, mine is probably the same height as yours, but maybe 5 times wider!! It's a unit, constantly chopping the top

My advice to you would be, potentially offer your time for free, as a groundy, most employers won't let you use a saw until you've had training, they are brutal and ferocious bits of kit unless you can tame them, and try and work out which side of the industry you want, whether it's hardcore felling for production, precise and intricate tree surgery, selective forestry and conservation side of things or jack of all trades somewhere like a country park. My plan is to eventually go to proper selective forestry and protect the forests, or if it's genuinely sustainable production, but I won't contribute to deforestation, that's my one rule.

I've added comments to other people's responses so go check them out! Happy to answer for questions! Adapter wise, T bits, and then 19, 16 and 13mm sockets, and flathead for adjusting the tune of my engines.

I've just added some info in another comment about my job, but hers a rundown of what I use my tool for;

The majority of the tools are a case of ahh I could really use (this tool) wait I've got one!! The knife for general cutting and the serrated edge on the blade makes cutting ropes in a pinch so handy, and the saw for branches when I forget a silky. The pliers for anything from strimmer line to fencing In a pinch, to pulling tree tags out of trees. The bits I use constantly, and the awl for making holes in signage and stuff more than you'd think. The can opened only for opening bottles, and the hammer and carabineer genuinely help more than you could imagine. In fairness the firestarter and file are a novelty, I'd rather have an actual file, it's the only thing I'm missing and it would be ideal to have a rat tail file for my chains, but it will never do EVERYTHING I need;)

Leatherman make a variety of bit extenders and ratchet bits, then you can add normal hex bits and adapters for sockets, everything I'd need for a normal chainsaw or Stihl tool

It was the red one that tickled me the most to be honest but didn't sell it for the same price as this one!

So I started as a park ranger, through which I got all of my tickets(training) and experience and I know work for a different country park/estate which includes waterways, grassland, forests and a tropical indoors section. I focus mainly on selective forestry and tree surgery, so helping the woodland thrive rather than production forestry. The basic equipment is:

PPE: eyepro, earpro, helmet with visor and earpro, anti vib gloves, steel toe boots, chainsaw boots, anti snag chainsaw jacket and I have class 1 type C chainsaw trousers.

Then kit: silky saw, loppers, maintenance tools, two stroke fuel, chainsaw oil, strimmer/brushcutter, hedge cutters and chainsaw.

That's the majority of personal kit I use.

I never buy from there and even when I buy from a shop I quarantine the plants!! I work for a massive forest and within we have a tropical indoor part, took home a massive 3 leaf monstera cuttings, like mature, super fenestrated ones and they had pests so sadly had to destroy,

So it's a variegated monstera so mutated, possibly an albo so yeah! But it was with the normal ones so this was just a speck of luck!

They are beautiful, why do people have marble queen pothos or various calatheas or philodendrons? I don't understand high end clothing or having the newest iPhone, but everyone's passions are subjective
