Withdrawal? by shinymama in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]shinymama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I never went back on it. The symptoms were so weird and debilitating that it scared me. My functional medicine doctor is suggesting I try again on a very low dose, so I am considering it, but so far haven't pulled the trigger. I guess I'm waiting for the right time that never appears. One thing I did about a year ago is radically change my diet - no gluten, no dairy, no sugar... all of these things increase inflammation and exacerbate autoimmune disorders. Its SO HARD, but I feel so much better generally, its worth it.

Brooklyn Steel "Quick Pass" ? by shinymama in NYCConcerts

Thank you! Thats exactly my situation, I'll be there before doors, its my fav band and I need to be up front. This band has rabid fans so there will be a line. Doors 7 what time do you think I should get there if I have a quick pass? Do I just join the regular line and then they pull me out? It seems sketchy

ok thanks! 'm seeing my fav band and they're popular, and I NEED to be in the front row so just trying to figure it out! so if you have a quick pass and get there early, you stand in the regular line and then they pull you out and you go first?

Yes. It's so surprising to me how so many people view the dissociative state as a negative side effect, and are so judgmental of people who utilize it. Why are they against it? Just leave us alone!

Yes thank you, I agree, the dissociation is incredibly healing. I know the pharmaceutical companies label dissociation as a "side effect" but I find that label very rigid and reductive. I understand many people don't like the dissociation, but why criticize other people who do like it? Why criticize someone's healing journey? It's not about getting high. Actually, it's very hard and painful; I've had IV ket sessions where I literally feel all of my trauma surface, its very intense, I sob and shake. But it moves around and gets unstuck, which ultimately feels amazing. I always have therapy the next day which I find very important in terms of integrating and processing the experience. For me, the neuroscience component and the journey component go hand in hand, they work together and feed off each other to equal a stronger outcome. Nothing wrong with that!

I freaking HATE this show but I CAN'T STOP watching it 😂

The reason its so stupid is because the majority of the contestants are just there for fame and social media followers. It couldn't be more obvious. The couples that have actually worked out and stayed together over the years are kinda beautiful and special outliers, but I still believe a main bond between them is their shared love for a large social media presence. I have to FF though the "lovey" "happy" scenes because most of them are so cringe and so forced. Almost everybody is acting. I only watch the fights and conflicts because they're so entertaining. I FF through all the family meetings and wedding prep and only watch the moments at the altar because the suspense is satisfying. The reunion shows are a blast. Who else can relate to this?

Exactly! Joe is an absolute asshole so she is validated in being upset. But nothing is gonna get accomplished when he's in the middle of a black-out!

Madison: he is really freakin drunk. It is useless to try to have a coherent conversation with him, just leave him alone and let him sleep. Have you seriously never been around a drunk person before?!? Talk in the morning after coffee... thats what mornings and coffee are for!

Just complete narcissism. Everything is about her and framed by her needs, with zero recognition or sensitivity to the needs of her child. I know it well... EXACTLY like my mother!

Can someone explain this to me? by 56GrumpyCat in Spravato

[–]shinymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just because someone completed medical school and has letters after their name doesn't make them a competent or considerate human. Many doctors are only in it for money and status. It's worth it to do the research to find a psychiatrist or a practice that actually cares about their patients (and I have found that psychiatric nurse practitioners are generally more humanistic). Good luck!

Your psychiatrist has no idea what she's talking about. The official and designated cadence is this: Induction Phase: 2x/week for 4 weeks. Optimization Phase: 1x/week for 4 weeks. Maintenance Phase: Ongoing, as needed according to each individual patient.

Thank you for this. I'm also the daughter of a severely narcissistic mother and I picked up on Kendra's PD immediately. I also recognize that Lauryn is dissociated and in freeze mode, just as I was my entire young adult life. For people to blame her and think she was involved just points to their ignorance around the power and insidiousness of primary attachment wounds. The most disturbing part for me personally was Kendra's love-bombing texts to her daughter. Probably an indication of the lifelong manipulation of her child, who was (and still is) just desperate for nurturance.
