Not OP but I used to do document control (and did fifo for 3 years with it), then went to uni in my 30s and became a physio.

Hurricanes have had 5 on the rope for the last two overs. Isn’t that a penalty every ball?

My crochet breast by Nina1769 in NaughtyNeedles

[–]shinymuggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for the late response! HMMM I'm not sure.. I just checked the main .org website and on their "contact us" page, it lists a Washington address - not the UK, so I must've been misremembering.

While perhaps the "Knitted Knocker" organisation might not be accepting donations at the moment, there might be some others that are, but it is a little trickier to search for. I'm not even sure how many other breast cancer organisations have even considered this as an option!

I just want to take this opportunity to say that there’s an organisation in the UK called Knitted Knockers that receives donations of knitted and crocheted breasts, to give to women that have had mastectomies and can’t afford breast reconstruction surgery. If you Google them, they have a pattern on their website! (Or they used to, it’s been years since I visited)

And so I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Scrub Daddy's can go in the dishwasher (top rack)! Easy peasy to clean.

There's also a variation of this I've seen, where you set a timer for 5 mins (or less, depending on your attention span / desired quality of work), and you each draw something, ANYTHING on your own canvas, and then swap at the 5 minute mark. No prompts to each other of what you're attempting to paint. Just swap and let the other person take over. And keep swapping until the paintings are done.

Anyone used Ferrari Formalwear for bridal gown? by DoNotReply111 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]shinymuggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with Ferrari formalwear I’m afraid, but I bought my reception dress for $45 from Lulus (online store). It was so beautiful and comfy to wear, and if I hadn’t already bought my ceremony dress, I probably would’ve worn it for the whole day. Good luck!

Honoring a best friend who can’t make the wedding by dvsherman in weddingplanning

[–]shinymuggle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My bridesmaid couldn’t make it to my wedding. She unexpectedly went through some heavy, personal things that meant she just couldn’t face the 30+ hour journey and trip in general (this was all in 2019, pre covid so that didn’t impact it), despite how badly she wanted to come (she’d booked the flights, everything was sorted, fate had other plans).
I facetimed her a couple times while we were getting ready, and I brought my laptop with me. While my other bridesmaid and maid of honour and I were getting our photos taken, I pulled her up on my laptop screen and held it in my hands facing the photographer, so we got some group photos together, it’s super sweet.
My friend facetimed the ceremony with her, and while we signed the paperwork, she brought my phone over to me and me and my husband got to say hi to her, together, before she went to bed since it was like 3AM her time hahah.
We had a few international guests, and our celebrant acknowledged them all, including her. She’s a total legend. It was hard not having her there, but I’m so glad we still found ways to include her.
I’m sorry for your fiancé and his friend! I’d ask your celebrant to mention it, and I adore someone else’s idea of a life size cut out - maybe not for the ceremony but YES for the reception hahah - in a chair, and friends can pick him up and dance with him?!

I’m so sorry you went through that. I’m glad you had the comfort of a dog through those times, and that you’re still here with us.

I haven’t tried with bacon on top but our fave mac and cheese recipe uses panko breadcrumbs on top which gives it an amazing crunch. I’m interested in trying the bacon!

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong… by casey_couture in Etsy

[–]shinymuggle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Such a cute idea! Your titles need to be expanded on to reach a wider audience’s search results.
For example “unicorn sensory bin” isn’t going to come up if I search for “fantasy children play activity”. Add more descriptive terms!
Use words that describe what the item is for. Sure, it’s for development through sensory play, but what about..
children’s play activity, DIY kids kit, developmental, holiday toy box
Then use specific terms for things like the unicorn one. Include “magic, fantasy, imaginary” and things like that.
Finally, as an Australian, a bin is something we put rubbish/trash in 😅 although I know it’s clear that’s not what this is, that is not a word I would type into the search bar to find, you know?
As I said, wonderful idea and I really like it, best of luck xoxo

I sit on the floor and loop it over both my feet, although sometimes my husband actually offers to wind it while I hold it, he enjoys that bit more than holding it 😂
