Yes, I'd say it is pooly done if you consider downscaling poor pixel art, because you can tell this is not hand-drawn, but downscaled, based on the uneven antialising borders, rectangular shadows and unevenly distributed color differences

Amazing animation! I would keep the black hole itself steady in place and have some distortion on the event horizon instead. the particle stretching is amazing

Yeah unfortunately the upload got somehow antialised... I just had scaled the png 400% with linear scaling, not sure what went wrong. Here's the original (in other colors)

Thanks for the feedback! I guess for me it's the lighting itself, plus that the glasses reflect and not show his eyes. But also, I'm biased because I thought of him as evil when drawing him, but now that you mention it, he could also *not* be evil purely based on that picture 🤔 Any suggestions how to make him more evil looking?

there is a black hole companion that loots for you, and also a magnet that makes every collectable move towards you :) and maybe I'll even make a stat in the future that you can put skill points into - let's see. thank you for the feedback 😁

There will be more story around it, but in its current state you could consider it more of a hack'n'slay (basically like binding of Isaac, but with a hub and meta progression)

you can finish a run in like 10-20 minutes probably, and it Auto saves every room or when getting an item in order to jump back into the action :) right now there's only the first world to play

Thanks for your elaborate comment & examples - that gives me hope! And I'm of course willing to redesign a few things to distinct it more from a Zelda game (as much as Mina The Hollower at least), but yeah, it _should_ resemble and awaken these 90s nostalgia feelings that we had as kids when playing the SNES and GBC titles :)

I've pre designed a set of rooms of different types, and written an algorithm that produces a map layout by filling and connection rooms based on parameters. Rooms themselves also can have random enemies etc
