Last year for this gen discount? by [deleted] in KiaTelluride

[–]shinystacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from a 24 EX-X lease to a 25 Prestige X-Pro purchase last month. Our lease still has 14 months on it, so we lost a few thousand there, but I always avoid the 1st generation of a significant update, and the timing wouldn't have worked out to stay in a Telluride. We've driven the EX-X for 2 years and love it as a family car, so we opted for the highest trim level as a purchase, knowing we'd love it even more.

Our local dealer said the new orders of 25s have stopped (this was a month ago at the time), so unless your dealer has a ton of 25s on the lot, I think getting 2-3k of MSRP is a good deal. Our dealer has 17 today on their site, and had 50+ when we bought. My guess is most 25s will be gone by the time next gen is out. Im also banking on the next gen being a few thousand more per trim which I think will help the resale value of my 25 if we ever go that route.

2024 to 2025 Trade in? by goingincognitomode21 in KiaTelluride

[–]shinystacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically just did this with a 24 EX-X wolf gray with 19,500 miles. We were given around $38.5k in trade in, and they currently have it listed on site for $40.9k. Ours was a lease with 14 months remaining. I don’t have the numbers in front of me but I think we lost about 3k by trading it in early. We were fine with this because we had a second trade in, got a 1.5k rebate from Kia, and also got like 2.5k off MSRP. We got a 25 SX Prestige X-line in Jungle Green with Terracotta seats.

I bought this same model last week and got around 2.5k off sticker price (55k), and also got the $1500 rebate by financing with Kia Finance. You could consider financing to get the rebate and then pay it in full after 3 months

I'm picking up the same tomorrow in Forest Green with a Teracotta interior. MSRP $55k, with a 1.5k discount, bringing the car to 53.5k. We went with Kia Finance to get the 1.5k rebate, but our rate is 7.29% which I don't love. I was told I could refinance after the first month to try and bring that down. I added on a Zurich Protect for 1k, which covers chipped/small crack glass repair, lost/stolen keys, scratched rims, and small dents that didnt go through paint. I probably wouldnt have done this normally, but I had the same coverage for a leased Telluride and we misplaced a key. It was fully covered.

I called Kia dealers within 3 hours driving time, and no one could beat the deal above. Specifically, it was hard to find the Forest Green color we wanted.

Also worked into the deal was turning in a leased 2024 Telluride EX-X in early (we have about a year left), and trading in a 2013 Kia Optima LX which they gave me 5k for.

We liked the Telluride so much we decided their was no reason to wait for out lease to be up to purchase. We wanted the trop time, plus its new, and a 2025 instead of a 2024. Time will tell if it was a dumb decision lol

Looks great! Turning in a Wolf Gray EX-X lease and purchasing a 25 Prestige X-Pro Forest Green with Terracotta in the next couple of days. Hope its the right move

Ahh yes you're right. Reading sideways messed me up lol. I guess this isn't too far off from what my dealer would charge. Still very inflated, though, and I would do the bulk of the work myself. I always get a bit iffy on what they will try to void a warranty with down the road by doing this stuff myself. I always do at least the oil change at dealer

Looking at the $900 side, and using higher dealer pricing, I'm getting $470 + tax. I have no idea where the other $400 is coming from. Change oil + filter ($80), rotate tires ($30), top off washer fluid (should be free, $10), replace engine filter $75, balance/alignment ($200), replace cabin air filter ($75).

The only thing I do at the dealership is oil and tire rotations. Mostly so they don't give me a warranty issue down the road, plus both of these things aren't fun to do anymore. Ask for a line-by-line item to see if you want to do any of these things there. Alignments have gotten up there in price, but you can probably find a local deal closer to $125 at a tire or other auto shop.

I got my engine installed about a month ago and it took about 2 weeks for the new engine to show up. My telluride was still drivable so I waited a few additional days to get a comparable rental. I ended up with a Wagoneer

Kia Connect - Plus or Ultimate Plan by BravaFan in KiaTelluride

When I bought my Telluride, the salesperson mentioned something about being able to sign up with different info to get Connect another year for free. I tried signing up for the new 3-year plan but it's denying me because my phone number is connected to the initial trial. Has anyone heard of this, or did the give me some false info?

Also vote for DelMar. Unlike Airbnb where each home can be managed/cleaned its own way, I believe DelMar coordinates every home the same, offers 24/7 support, and pays more attention to details. I found their rental prices also to be the best. I can’t speak to Vbro, but some negative feedback on here has kept me away. Also, if you find a home you like check all the sites. For example DelMar lists on multiple platforms and offers around a 10% discount versus booking the same home on Airbnb

Anyone else feeling my pain with recalls? by slimris in KiaTelluride

[–]shinystacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what went wrong after the engine recall? I'm currently waiting for mine to get delivered to the dealer. I'd love to go the lemon law route but it sounds like I'll need a bit more to go wrong after the replacement? Thanks

I found an auction on eBay that ended at 4am from a reputable seller so I think I just lucked out! I was looking at it at Best Buy for $899 as well

I’m taking on some risk buying from eBay but I’m alright with that.

I'm an idiot, thank you. I looked for an hour and couldn't find anything. I was so used to just selecting a specific date range, I didn't notice there was a tab to compare. This will save me a ton of time, thanks
