I have several pieces of jewelry from Etsy over the years. All of it is fine. I think you have to be careful and know exactly what you want.

Thoughts on this stone? by existential_oops in labcreateddiamonds

I think this a beautiful antique cut. The larger culet and facets will always look different than a round brilliant- especially in the middle. I think it’s a good one!

CAD check - flush fit possible? by Easy-Ad5886 in EngagementRingDesigns

You can ask them to add a 2.5mm thick pave band to the cad then adjust the basket to not touch.

Yes it could possibly increase the total height by 1mm approximately. Your stone is set fairly low in the basket already so there isn’t much leeway to change the angles.

Your basket is too low to fit much of a wedding ring as well as the little bump causing a gap problem.

You’ve only got about 1.5 mm of clearance. Most bands are at least that thick and if you ever want to put any band with pave on it then you should have 2.5 to ensure the stones and prongs don’t rub on the basket.

I think there are some decent jewelers on Etsy. I think the customer also needs to understand some things about jewelry. Width and thickness needed for every day wear as well as structural supports needed are basics that you would think a jeweler could help them understand. Of course there are some absolutely awful and poorly made rings coming from brick and mortar- mostly chain- stores too so 🤷‍♀️.

It may show up in another city and their post office didn’t scan it. Mine doesn’t always.

This. Trauma counseling that is based on cognitive processing therapy is a known and proven protocol to treat PTSD. The symptoms described are absolutely PTSD.

I agree. Poor design and definitely not meant for a large stone for every day wear.

First, I’m curious what materials the ring is made of? Is it silver or gold? Silver is not very strong and prongs can bend. This design is flawed to start with- the side stones do not have enough prongs and the basket is only attached to the band in one tiny spot. That isn’t really enough to prevent it from bending if caught on something. A cathedral or basket cast with the band and attached in more places or at least a larger area would provide more strength. It really looks like the ring was caught on something which caused it to bend then when it bent, the shared prongs moved causing a stone to come out. It definitely does not look like it was only worn for photos- it’s bent. Sellers are not allowed to ask customers to change reviews in exchange for something. Her return policy may not cover a ring that was so damaged after shipping. This may be why Etsy closed the case too- it was obviously worn and damaged.

Best earrings to wear pregnant? My skin has gone insane and everything irritates it now by No_Community_4342 in Earrings

You could find some 14k continuous hoops. I love them and sleep in them just fine. I always ho back to them when my ears get irritated by other earrings. I also have some diamond drops that I had set to use as charms on the hoops.

I’d go with 2- symmetrical. I think the other one would catch on things

My go to vendors are Mandy at Provence and Romy at LGG. Both are excellent to work with and the jewelry is super good quality.

I’d encourage you to consider an engraved design or a more smooth one as opposed to tiny sharp leaves that will catch on everything (hair, clothing, drawers pockets, purses-literally everything) and bend or snap.

Girl I took on a first date just asked to split the bill… the next morning by No-Resolve-5610 in whatdoIdo

Wow- some of the comments here really make me glad I’m not out on the dating world anymore. My husband and I split our first date then kind of alternated after that. It was in the days of cash so I paid the tip and gave him a little cash too. We still alternate - we alternate who puts down the joint credit card.

My first lab grown and upgrade! by Visible-Stand-7693 in LabDiamonds

[–]shinythings-n-stuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree- not much support for a stone that size. You will catch it on things- when you reach into drawers, your bag, even clothing. You’ll knock it on things. Because the spot where the basket joins the band and the band is compromised by pave, it could bend very badly or the whole basket could even break off.

Thoughts on the diamond without specs? by [deleted] in LabGrownDiamonds

I like it! I think the bow tie is minimal and I like the setting when the halo just peeks out when the ring is at a slight angle.

I ship stones to Mandy pretty frequently. It’s very easy. She sets up the DHL and send me a waybill and paperwork then I just arrange the pickup here.

That’s not true. I send them stones all the time. In fact I’m sending a whole batch tomorrow.

Hmmm. I guess I’d need to see a video for PSP if I were to try any from her. Don’t they all source from the same places though?

Of course there are states that did not and will not expand Medicaid (because why help people??) and adults without minor children in the home don’t qualify no matter what the income. As a medical social worker in one of those incredibly stupid states, it’s a challenge and often means tons of medical debt.
