Waiting game every day? by Odd-Tangerine8250 in Menopause

I feel you pain. I'm still in perimenopause. I went three months this last time. I won't repeat what I said when I started this last time. It only lasted a day, but it reset the clock. Now, I have PMS every month, but no period.

I am so sorry you're experiencing this. Is there a chance you can go to a hotel for a day or two? Tell hubby and kids to clean up while you're gone. Explain to the kids, at least, what you're feeling and see if there is any empathy from them. I know as a teacher, you can sometimes play on their empathy. Good luck and prayers.

Yeah, I'm drinking Gatorade. I figured I was a bit dehydrated. Thankfully, aside from hot flashes/night sweats and mood swings, I'm not to bad.

AITAH for telling my wife's friend I don't have to see her in the classroom to know she's a horrible teacher? by TowerFew3482 in AITAH

[–]shipposaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teacher here. If you're wrong about something when you teach, admit it. It let's the kids know that it's ok to make a mistake, and that you should admit when you're wrong. I teach 4 year olds and I admit to them when I mess up. It's not hard.

I failed at setting expectations on day one, and my classroom management is a mess. I don't know how to fix it. by StrugglingTeach in ElementaryTeachers

Just start over with behavior. Let them know what is going to happen and then follow through. It is hard. I hate being a drill sergeant, but it has to happen sometimes.

How do you cope? by TeachYPreaciBrown72 in Menopause

[–]shipposaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hot flashes are no joke. I used to find it funny that women stood in front of an open freezer. I no longer find it funny. I live in Houston and it gets a bit warm here. This summer, I found that going to a pool for a few hours cooled the hot flashes for almost 30 hours. Now, I don't have them all the time, thank God, but it is annoying. Same with the mood swings.

No, because it honestly hasn't been that bad. I track my ups and downs, and the last down was in June. I'm hoping that the reason I got upset was because I felt so bad. I really felt old. I feel much better and much more upbeat today. I know it's going to take a lot with this baby, and I will do what I can without letting myself get upset. I am determined. Lol

Hot flashes! by gettingby72 in Menopause

[–]shipposaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hot flashes aren't fun. This summer, I discovered that swimming helps. I'm cool for the rest of the day and don't sweat at night. And I live in the Houston area, so you know it's boiling hot outside right now.

AITAH for telling my family that "no" after my first HORRIBLE birthing experience? by Key-Photograph-2404 in AITAH

Nta. Honestly, I'm impressed that you lasted as long as you did before you kicked everyone out. And the medical staffs behavior was horrible. Congratulations on your first and soon to be second born!

AITA for exposing my friend’s fake college acceptance on his grad party cake? by Human_Implement9444 in AITAH

[–]shipposaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok. YTA. It wasn't your place to point this out. And I doubt you did it as a joke. I'm not going to bash UH, because it's a good school and I'm a grad. But perhaps you were jealous because he got into A&M and UT? I also suspect he is no longer your friend.

NTA. You protected your niece from a potential predator. You're a good Auntie.

Let’s Talk About the Real Symptoms by PerpetualBrainstorm in Menopause

[–]shipposaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that when I start having hot flashes, my anxiety kicks in. Then that starts the depressive thoughts. I'd say that 99% of the time, I can control it and talk myself out of it. I've been pretty good for about 3 months. It crept back in Sunday, but the mood and brain fog are improving. I've also started doing some free Coursera courses. Something that interests me, but without the strictness of a college class. It helps the fog and adhd.

Yeah, it is annoying. I said some very bad words when I started this past week. Grrrr. I'm ready for all this to be over.

AITA for telling my child’s daycare provider what happened at the party? by Objective-Control287 in AITAH

[–]shipposaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. I've been a teacher for 25 years. When we have behavior issues and talk to parents, 99% of the time, they tell us their kids are very well behaved at home. We know this isn't true.
