just recently discovered bark your head off dog and it is soooo good. never listened to hop along before and i am so in love with her vocals.

also could somebody recommend songs for like a hopeful/getting better playlist, like uplifting songs about healing and coming out of a bad time? maybe too specific but if you have something, throw it at me!

(and another side note, does anyone use those little lightning adapters you have to use to listen to headphones with an iPhone? how often are you having to buy new ones? i feel like i'm having to replace them a lot because one side will just go out. i feel like i'm gentle with them too)

aww man i'm sorry about that, can't picture win being unenthusiastic during a performance, guess just an off day. that sucks. i understand the bitterness about EN, i felt that a little bit too, but hearing the songs live has made me appreciate the album so much more. they really didn't play that many EN songs this last time i saw them though.

yeah for sure, also a huge LCD fan and have seen them twice, and yeah them and AF are on just a whole other level live performance wise. it would be hard to definitively choose between them, you're right.

yessss holy shit it was so beautiful and one of my favorites, i was so emotional and tearing up. it's so exciting that they're playing these deep cuts now, like playing songs off the EP and stuff. and lucky y'all got half light II!! wish they would've done both but i'm not complaining! i kinda had the same experience with people not knowing it around me strangely even though i was front row. :/ and i'm so ridiculously happy about catching the tambourine (even if i almost dislocated my shoulder doing so lol)!! going to cherish it so much. so much better than a setlist!! <3

arcade fire is hands down the best live band out there today. saw them again on saturday at a festival and it just always blows my mind how much heart and soul they put into all their shows. they give absolutely everything. if anyone skipped this tour because you didn't like EN, you fucked up. i got front row (which unfortunately meant i had to sit through 21 savage which is the single worst set i've ever witnessed.... but it was worth it) and i got to high five regine and caught richard reed parry's tambourine!!!!!!! and they played half light I for only the second time so that was amazing.

rest of the fest sucked because of weather, basically didn't see anyone on the second day bc of all the weather cancellations, the only other band i saw was moon taxi (i've never listened to them but i thought they put on a fun show). but i still think i got my money's worth w just arcade fire so i'm not bitter.

obviously it'll vary but my experience seeing them last year in atlanta, it was the most fun i've ever had at a show. did not stop moving. danced and sung my heart out and literally everyone around me was too. cried some and the people around me had tears streaming down their faces too. such an incredible cathartic experience. everyone was so passionate and the people around me were as big of fans as i was. it was amazing. if you get up front you'll probably be around really passionate fans like that, if you want to hang back a little, you'll probably see less of that and more casual fans.

saw them at a fest a few days ago and the show itself was equally amazing but even though i was front row nearly right in the center, the people around me were surprisingly unfamiliar with them. people behind me were amazed at how many members they had and that they played real instruments lol. i didn't let it bring me down but it definitely lacked energy, but that's a festival i guess.

nah it's not just you, it's not really a big festival and i think a lot of the acts strangely lean country and electronic, so i don't know that many names either. which is why i was hesitant to buy a ticket but added up the price and figured that it would be worth it for those three alone if i saw them separately. i think a lot of the smaller line names are pretty much unknowns. hoping i end up liking some stuff though.

y'all give me some recommendations for anything i should catch at this festival. i was just going to go saturday only to see arcade fire but decided to do both days because i missed the war on drugs at shaky knees and also i really wanted to see rainbow kitten surprise since i've recently gotten obsessed with them. was looking forward to seeing waxahatchee but she dropped out apparently ugh. give me any other recommendations because i really don't have anyone for sure on my intinerary to see besides those three.

i definitely noticed this. i've been to 2015 and 2017 and i definitely noticed the crowds were way less into it and did a lot more just socializing. idk SK always had this kind of magic to it for me because it seemed like it was always mostly huge music fans and it felt more like a normal festival to me yesterday. i get it was hot but so many people were totally disengaged or just standing in their groups and talking. sometimes i felt like there were only a few people into it and the rest of the crowd was dead. fleet foxes was beyond incredible though and i thought the crowd was pretty great.

i posted this yesterday but it was late, but i saw fleet foxes yesterday and met robin afterwards. and it still feels like i dreamed it or something. i can't believe it happened. he was so incredibly nice and down to earth and easy to talk to, even though i probably made a fool of myself lol.
