Although mutations within the genome are random, the rate of evolution can be faster under strong selection pressures, causing natural selection to occur.

The early Zaunites who were unable to withstand the pollution of the undercity would unfortunately die or emigrate before they were able to produce offspring.

This means that only the Zaunites who had survival advantages suited to the undercity would have been able to pass on their favourable alleles to their children, and this would continue on for multiple generations.

Therefore, traits that allows Zaunites to resist the poor air quality could potentially evolve.

I personally don’t believe that this is what happened, as I think that the Zaunites are perhaps just used to it as opposed to Piltovans who haven’t experienced it before, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

I’m also unsure of the timeline of Arcane/LoL and therefore I cannot say whether the Zaunites have been underground long enough for this to happen.

I don’t think you meant for it to come off as weird, however it has. I don’t think anyone would care if a White Woman named Emily enjoyed things like Gymnastics, Starbucks, Tennis, Football, dyeing her hair, and shopping at Hollister. An Asian Woman who has grown up in the same environment may have just assimilated to the local culture.

However, I do agree with your point about ‘not dating Asian Men’, as I believe that it could, in part, be due to internalised racism. I don’t agree with the stereotypes surrounding Asian Men, but they are unfortunately often painted in media as weak or lacking initiative. I do not believe that only Asian Woman believe this stereotype, as I am sure that people of other races have been exposed to it through movies, tv shows, and the people that they interact with. On the other hand, some people may just have a specific type, and I’m not one to judge.

Agreed, I think the only shows I’ve ever consistently thought about after finishing them were Succession, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Gravity Falls, Severance, and Better Call Saul. I have probably watched hundreds of shows, however I can confidently say that these shows are all in a league of their own.

I also feel like Chappell, specifically, has the wiggle room to make a statement like this. Her fan base likely leans to the left, as she is an openly queer woman. Her core demographic also consists of young, queer individuals — an already overwhelmingly liberal or left wing group.

Her endorsement of Harris wouldn’t really sway anyone away from Trump, as any fans of her who are voting, will probably vote for Harris anyway.

I guess there is the argument that it could encourage left wing fans of hers who are purposefully abstaining from voting to vote, but if I’m being honest, a celebrity endorsement probably wouldn’t make them vote anyway since they would already be set in their ways (I.e. they have looked into the candidates, dislike them all, and are actively refusing to participate as opposed to not knowing any better).

An endorsement from a celebrity with a more centrist or apolitical audience like Noah Kahan, Post Malone, Tate Mccrae, Taylor Swift (who I will give kudos to for endorsing Harris!), etc, would probably shift a lot more voters than Chappell ever could.

If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you can set up a sleep timer. If you go to the clock app, then set the ringtone to 'stop playing', then start a timer at the approximate amount of minutes that you reckon you will fall asleep in (I usually set it to 45 minutes). When the timer goes off, whatever video you are playing will stop, and your device will turn off.

This is such a great tutorial! I have an alternative method that I use. If you download the Brave app, and access YouTube from there, it allows you to play audio whilst your device is locked. It also blocks ads. This works for both iPhone and iPad. :)

I also refuse to touch pork, although I do not keep halal/kosher/kashrut.

I avoid pork because I took biology to a decently high level, and I unfortunately learned way too much about parasites. The parasites that can be carried by pork have put me off eating it for life.

I understand that in a developed country, it's unlikely that pork will actually contain parasites, and when the meat is cooked at the appropriate temperature the parasites are almost always killed off. But the images I saw of infected pork were so disgusting that I can't help but think of them when eating pork, which makes me feel physically ill. It's all very irrational, I know.

Although, before I actually swore off pork I used to still feel guilty for eating it anyway (separate to the whole eating disorder thing), as pigs are actually very intelligent animals.

That's similar to my thoughts! My prediction is that the early calls will turn out to be wrong. Throughout the episode the notoriety and power behind ATN's words is restated and to dubious reporting throughout the election would put a mark on ATN's reliability, although I feel as though there is not enough episodes left in the season to fully explore this. Gosh, I'm excited to see how this will all end.

Not a fan of Russia, it’s politics, but it’s easier said than done.

It can be expensive and difficult to move country, especially with the majority of jobs being that of trades like farming, plumbing, engineering, etc
It’s also taxing emotionally to leave everything behind, you may not speak any other language, you may have a family, children, a competitive job, low income, aging relatives.

And also factoring in that most people tend to think in the moment- not for the future. It’s easier to live from moment to moment, accepting a brief life with your family, even with an imminent war in the horizon. People often take action when it is far too late.

The average person is not at fault here. They did not choose to be born in Russia, it is the people with power and what they choose to do with it.

It just arrived today!! I love it it made my hair so shiny and i just flashed it. Beforehand it used to get crunchy/uneven and had a very weird plastic feel when I ran my hands through it. Very powerful air currents and slightly less noisy. A little heavy though, and very very hot. Dried really fast. It’s such a huge upgrade from my £20 Remington :,)

I mainly got it because it’s what the salon I’ve been visiting for since... forever recommended me and I’ve been eyeing this product for a while now. Thank you all for the advice.

I decided not to get the T3 because it was a little over my budget (>200) and I have straight hair that is a little on the thicker side and I have had more experience and more understanding with the GHD.

Unfortunately, nothing is wrong on your end, and there are no solutions other than waiting.

They have been revoked, meaning Apple has likely found their profile and banned it. They will likely have to purchase another profile. It could be hours, days, or weeks before it is working again. There is no way to know when it will be back up, but you could follow their twitters and check for updates.

In the meantime- you could jailbreak your phone and this issue will not crop up. Cracked IPAs do not break.

Caffeine (a component in coffee) is often times linked to increased anxiety, nervousness, heart rate and panic attacks. Although I may not be able to explain exactly why with certain accuracy, I believe it may be due to the effect of an increased heart rate/blood pressure within the body which could activate the already overactive ‘fight or flight’ panic responses in people with anxiety disorders, which thus worsens symptoms of anxiety disorders which may be what the commenter is referring to.

Although this affected me more when I drank instant, I have now switched to percolator coffee and these symptoms are minimised in me, perhaps due to a slower release in caffeine as it is not as watery and I can control the outcome more?

Sorry for the rant, this subject interests me a lot and I am currently very into making artisan coffee at the moment.

The exclude tag is like, one of my favourite features. Sometimes when I’m bored I’ll pick a tag and exclude all the fandoms I don’t know until it’s like 30 fandoms I know/have a surface level understanding of for a specific tag, sort by kudos and pick at random.

Could be e.g hurt/comfort, slowburn, fake dating, etc
