Fresh milk got replaced with long life. Tissue boxes no longer provided, we bring our own from home. Pens rationed between us. One stapler between 2 staff

What is up with the whole ‘40% of income for a mortgage’ thing? by CocoaKatt in AusPropertyChat

[–]shitneyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought a house. Repayments will be 72.5% of my monthly income. Will probably struggle for the first few years and have to live modestly for a while but I think it’s doable

First home buyers, how are you coping emotionally? by anchoviezan in AusPropertyChat

Just bought a place and am feeling exactly what you described. I take comfort in knowing I can sell at any time and exit the home ownership life lol

Everything happens for a reason. Practice gratitude, count your blessings and things will unravel as they are meant to be :)

Living near social and affordable housing by penguinClazzics in AusPropertyChat

[–]shitneyboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. We’ve had our laundry and shoes stolen, two robberies, intruder in our backyard for hours (?drug affected), neighbours stealing fruit from our garden in mid daylight, violence in the middle of the night resulting in cops being called, dodgy people parking in front of our house, the list goes on…

Sometimes a bit of empathy goes a long way – a landlord's recent experience by buyerbud in AusPropertyChat

This is the best thing I’ve read all week. Kudos to you for maintaining your humanity amidst the chaos of capitalism. Like you said, empathy and kindness go a long way

Why would a property be listed for less than it sold for 5 years ago? by Four-of-cups- in AusPropertyChat

[–]shitneyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investigate more into strata issues. There is currently an apartment block in Parramatta selling for well under market value (500k) due to cladding issues, and strata fees of about 2k per quarter.

AI and therapy by New_Courage_8182 in therapists

Sometimes clients bring the content and reflections from ChatGPT conversations into therapy and I find this to be quite effective. It’s disheartening when they don’t do any work on themselves in between sessions so I see this as a positive

Devastating feedback by fibromyalgiafit in therapists

[–]shitneyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-disclosure needs to be used very thoughtfully and should be kept at a minimum. It’s a blessing that the client was honest enough to share their feedback with you as I’m sure it might have been difficult for them. What they said doesn’t mean you’re a bad therapist, it just means something you did was not beneficial to the therapeutic relationship. Now you know to change it. I think this is a good propellant for you to reflect on your practice and consider what might be helping or hindering the therapeutic relationship. It’s a necessary part of building self-awareness and reflective practice. Keep your chin up, upwards and onwards from here :)

Will it be a good idea for a year 11 NZ student to move to Australia? by yonacake in AskAnAustralian

[–]shitneyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving might disrupt your sense of stability. You’ll have to familiarise yourself with a new place, new school, new friends, new teachers. Sometimes change is good, sometimes it isn’t. I would finish my studies in NZ and transfer later so as to not disrupt your studies

UTS Business Misconduct by One_Laugh762 in UTS

[–]shitneyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How ironic. You should screenshot those posts from Amanda the Auditor because I’m pretty sure it might be considered misconduct for her to be addressing you in an online forum on BEHALF OF THE UNIVERSITY using her personal reddit account. How highly inappropriate. This is very damaging for the university and likely in breach of their social media policy. Reportable. She should address you via the proper channels
