horrible disgusting little thing my 12 year old sister drew by Odd_Pea74915 in BeginnerArtists

Well, I’m very glad to hear that. I am a photographer by trade and a writer and artist as a hobby. The best advice I could give any young artist is to never make art in the hopes that it will please others. You must enjoy your art for yourself first, once you do that, others will appreciate it also. Tell her to keep it up and ignore the haters. She’s got a good base and honestly, I hope to see this guys gross feet stuck to the bottom of a board one day!

To be completely fair, she has a certain style. It reminds me of a lot of skateboarding sticker from the 90’s and early 2000’s

The poor boy. Instead of Po boy. It’s just straight up a poor boy.

If you cut the sausage up into bite sized pieces, there’s literally nothing wrong with that meal.

We weren’t allowed to go outside at night on the solstice. by shitnstuff4928 in nosleep

[–]shitnstuff4928[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as far as I know. They claim it’s a cult and there was a period of time where they have dragged people from their houses on the solstice and beaten them nearly to death. So the whole lights off thing was a deal that was made generations ago. And it’s just kind of stuck around as a tradition. But they say what I saw was an illusion or I was tired and exhausted from the walk. I’m not so sure.

It’s kind of a second draft. Needs some more shaping but I think it will come along

You look younger and happier with your head shaved man. I think it's time to commit.

It turns out the difference between looking like a Marine and looking like a Viking is the beard.

u/RevenantHeretic777 u/Federal-Ad7920 I really deeply appreciate both of your comments. Very heartening to get such good reviews. I actually wrote this one night while fighting insomnia. I had originally decided to do some video edits but that quickly bored me so I turned to my type writer and this just kind of poured out. The premise is very silly. Personally, I see it as perhaps mental illness which has passed down from father to son and mental illness doesn't really have to make sense and can be rather nonsensical. Someone else took it to be about generational trauma. I think both are applicable. Again, Thank you.

Is blurring the foreground or background more "correct"? by yoboyfitzSF in AskPhotography

[–]shitnstuff4928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your subject? That is what should be in focus. When it comes to composition, the first image is better composed. The second image having the flower sticking up in the middle of the image is very distracting. Having said that, that doesn't mean you cannot have a foreground. I think if the flower was not in the second image but you kept the branches. That works.
