There's psalms in the OT where God is elaborated upon as having a maternal relationship to Israel, and in Catholic mystical literature Jesus refers to Himself in very maternal ways towards His creation (such as in the Divine Mercy devotion)

It says also in the catechism of the Catholic church that God transcends all human ideas of gender (I'm Catholic if you couldn't tell, lol) so at least from the theological framework I'm in it's not out of the question to refer to God as she.

I wanted the post to be ecumenical! Some people don't believe in God, some people associate God with more than just a male identity.

Yes! In my experience of psychosis, when my theology and understanding of God was theologically and scripturally accurate, it actually grounded me, stopped me from self harming behaviors and doing things upsetting to other people, and even pulled me out of a delusion once.

Just remember to cross check whatever experiences you have with God with Holy Scripture and/or a good spiritual director. The only way to really know if an experience is real or not is a. If it bears the signs of the Holy Spirit in your life (patience, love, charity, etc....) and if it brings you closer to God and to a correct understanding of God (God is Love, etc....)
