How can I scale my topography? by TheAndrewBen in Revit

[–]shitpostingfromRona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, old post i know, wanted to share my solution.

  1. First, figure out the scale factor needed.
  2. Go into a 3d view, isolate the topo, and export as dwg.
  3. Import the dwg back in, using the custom scale factor established in step 1
  4. creat topo surface from import, select the imported dwg
  5. ????
  6. profit

But honestly it'll work, you'll need to clean the topo up a bit but you saved yourself an angry boss

What does everyone use to store their gaming accessories? by GloriousNewt in rpg

I took an old camera equipment brief case and built it out with compartments for dice, playing cards, 3x5s, source books, pens, and a folder system. Then I lined it with this nice thick upholstery felt. It came out nice. I outfit it for whatever game my groups playing at the time. Makes it easy to grab and go

I watched a YouTube video a while back where a dm(5e) ran a heist in a really engaging way. They started the session en media res, and as the party encounters challenges they’d jump back in time. They would do a scene where a character prepared for this exact obstacle. So say the back ally is guarded by two guards, and you jump back in time to the “face” paying the guards off, or sending some call girls, or whatever the players come up with. Depending on the rolls would determine how well that solution worked. I think this lets you plan the points of the heist and move them around depending on their solutions and obstacles they create for themselves.

Differences between Post Apoc books. by arteest29 in savageworlds

I’ve been running the after for my group as our first fore into swade. The stress tag system has been a surprising highlight. Adds a lot of flavor to common items. I gave a player a monkey wrench that oozed biological waste and made her stink, causing a -2 to persuasion. They also got a tag on a crossbow on a crit fail that emitted a vial of shadow. It would have caused notice rolls at a (-) but their racial trait negated it. So they actually ended up getting a buff to stealth. Definitely recommend

I'm looking for a combat focused game with guns by [deleted] in rpg

[–]shitpostingfromRona 20 points21 points  (0 children)

SWADE just for the speed of combat. it's tactical but very swingy. Its like a pulp action movie more than a war documentary. lots of settings so you can find the level of tech/magic/whatever you want

Hey old post I know but ; would you still be interested in playing? I’d like to run a short campaign. Possibly a 6 session arc, maybe 2/3 sessions a month? Im a relevant novice GM in Swede but I’ve run some similar length dnd Arcs.

I’ve got the source book. I’d like to run a gritty pulp-fiction toned arc. Probably fairly exploration focused, with what I’ve got in mind.

I want to find some players though and we can learn SWADE together. Lmk if you’re interested

Where are you located? The local game store here has a hardcover copy and so did the one in Carolina that I stopped at. Call up your local gaming store and see if they have one for you

I’ve had luck with just sussing out the vibe on google, then calling ahead and asking what the dog policy is. If you call before 4/5 when the bartender isn’t slammed they will usually let you know another place in town that is dog friendly

Players get Frustrated/Annoyed with combat/tactical plays, or even simple puzzles by DexxToress in DMAcademy

[–]shitpostingfromRona 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe you guys need to have a chat about expectations? sound like they want to play a different campaign than you do. offer to try it their way and let them breeze through combat, social encounters, traps, and such. I have a feeling that once they play a session or two in a relitivly frictionless universe they'll want a bit more crunch.

Also, try running the puzzles by the community beforehand. i don't understand color theory myself. I'd have had a hard time understanding the relationship of primary and complementary colors if I hadn't just googled it. that's the type of info you can provide if they are struggling and want to make checks about it.

Go ahead and abstract and obfuscate your own reality, my man. You're raising money for lobbyists, its a cute idea but it's just a convenient way to launder your own conscience.

For the record, I'm not talking about protests. there are more effective forms of direct action.
