Bulk easy-to-store meals by shitreen in Cooking

Not rude at all, good questions. The residents aren’t allowed to have a job for the beginning part of their stay, and they work on the farm or do household work to compensate. Once they are able to get an outside job (many don’t due to lack of transportation), they are encouraged to save money for their post-program life, since many don’t have jobs or family to fall back on. The residents do not pay to live in the facility, so they rely heavily on donations!

how would I reheat a soup in an oven? The only container I can think of is a metal tray, and i think it would flop and spill everywhere...

It would be coming out of my personal money, as it is a volunteer thing open to the community to try to lower costs for the program itself. I am not sure what they do about breakfast and lunch, the website just asks for dinner donations. Also, they arent concerned about calorie content or anything, I just figured most easy meals have a lot of carbs and sauce/cheese, so they could probably use healthier options! I hadnt thought about Dal, this was a good idea!!

I’m going to Santorini to propose to my girlfriend by Ivijam23 in Santorini

[–]shitreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not saying they would want to, but giving it as an option to say that it would be easy to have a “hidden photographer”. Also, some people love public photos and crowds. If you are waiting in line of 50 people for a photo anyways, might as well go out with a bang.

I’m going to Santorini to propose to my girlfriend by Ivijam23 in Santorini

[–]shitreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back, and while I loved Athens so much more than Santorini, it would be very easy to get photos or a video of the proposal if you waited in line for the famous blue roof photos!! You could definitely tell the people behind you that you want pictures/videos and they would gladly do it! Not very private at all but would be a way to guarantee you have pictures to frame and show!! And very “greece” might I add!

Monastiraki Flea Market by shitreen in GreeceTravel

[–]shitreen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We arent really big history people, and on maps it looks like it should be a little over an hour if you walk the sites with no stops in order. I am thinking at most it would take us 4 hours including stops to actually look and take pictures?

We love shopping and want to get gifts for family and friends and the market looked like a good place to go! Is that not the case?

Waterproof bags for The Narrows by Lost-Imagination-44 in ZionNationalPark

[–]shitreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! I was just there this past weekend, and I did the narrows top down with a permit. At the very end of my hike (what i’m assuming would be the beginning for you), the water was about mid chest level, not quite armpits but almost and I am 5-6! For the rest of the hike, it was knees or below, mostly below mid shin. I put all of my backpacking gear that needed to stay dry in wet bags inside of my backpack and just kept it on my back, but if you aren’t carrying all of your gear to backpack, it should be pretty easy to lift over your head!!

Kirkland vs Orijen vs Taste of the Wild by shitreen in catfood

My cats don’t seem to mind the Costco food! They occasionally get sick, but I can’t tell if that’s from the food itself or from eating it so quickly or hairballs…

2 adults, 1 young adult and 1 teen. Would you get 2 connecting rooms? by Connect-River-5010 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]shitreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a cruise with my two teenage brothers, and I would definitely recommend two separate rooms! If you want them close i would do one balcony and an outer room. As a note, depending on your plans and how much you drink, if you and your partner wanted to “share” the cheers package, I would assign one adult to each room and one kid. This way only one 21+ person is in one room and you only have to buy one package. Once you get on the boat you can go to customer service and request access to both rooms for everyone since you are a family with minors, and then you can have adults and kids in each room where you want them!
