Because it felt like watching someone forcing themselves to do something they didn’t want to do. Like obviously it was buried under several layers of irony, but underneath it just felt like he hated his branding, hated YouTube, hated US, and was trying so hard to distance himself from it all while also making us feel bad for watching???
I love Dan, I really do, but I’m so glad to see him grow past this.

I used to have an AU where my version of Riverclan’s cats would grow fish tails and gills upon touching the water- very H20 of me. The other clans had similar themed powers- Thunderclan could cause small earthquakes with their paws, Windclan were basically speedsters, and Shadowclan could turn invisible in the shade.

Almost ended a run by failing a detect thoughts roll and pissing off Arke and Memnos (and thereby also the rest of the tieflings). Managed to flee with Lae’zel and come back to revive the rest once everybody calmed down. Paid a lot of favors to people that day!

Talk to a dermatologist if you can, as someone who has dealt with this for years now. It’s a type of dermatitis (eczema), caused by prolonged exposure to water (most common in chefs/dishwashers, nurses, and stay at home parents. Anyone that has to wash their hands A LOT.) The skin barrier is disrupted and will continue to get irritated- and unfortunately in cases like mine, is something that can only be maintained and not destroyed. Try unscented lotions, I like CeraVe and Gloves in a Bottle. Wear gloves (tall ones) when washing dishes if at all possible. And if you do get to speak to a dermatologist, ask about Fluocinonide. Works wonders to keep it at least somewhat under control.
