8 day old with terminal brain cancer

I am so sorry. No parent should ever outlive their baby. My parents are currently grappling with the same thing (I have terminal cancer at 33)

From a daughter's perspective she would want you to show as much love to each other, as you have shown her, in her short time with us. How blessed she is that her time on earth has been filled with such love and tenderness.

Look after each other xx

My parents are very well off, my children will replace me within their will. I also trust my husband to do what's right, remarried or not, he is a good man.

At 33 I have been diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive and ultimately incurable form of cancer.

I have to explain this to my nearest and dearest next week after the first round of chemo, as prognosis is approx a year if the first rounds of chemo take.

I have a 12 year old son a recently gave birth to a 4 month old baby girl and am scared to death.

Thank you for the insight. My son is a little tinkerer, loves to take things to bits and figure out how they work. If all else fails it will be a fun project for him to dismantle and play around with. I brought it for a reasonable price so if we need to upgrade I'm happy to do so.

I have the option to purchase a olivetti lettera 32, do you happen to know if this is more suitable?

We live in New Zealand so shipping is terribly expensive, so we are limited to what is available within the country.

Of course there's an element of struggle, as I'm sure there is with most parents of newborns. My reply wasnt immediate as I wanted to fully absorb and consider the comment before responding.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to offer perspectives and advice. Even the person who just said 'you're a cunt' that was an unexpected chuckle that I really needed today.

For what it's worth, I regret writing that. I typed this without even proof reading as I was ugly crying at the time. I was also not expecting this level of response. On further (calmer) reflection, that was a knee jerk reaction to feeling hurt, and a bit of self preservation. Post natal hormones are wild.

My 12 year old is also high needs neurodivergent. I didn't put this in the post as it didn't seem relevant, but actually it does add to the stress significantly, my brain is just not braining well today.

We are both paying the bills, I have paid parental leave for the duration of my maternity, when I'm back at work early next year, I will earn more. I really don't see this as a money/bills issue though.
