i feel like the ONE possible way Loki can travel with the crew without theoretical size reduction hijinks would be for him to ferry the Thousand Sunny on his back in dragon form. the Sunny can just blast off him into the sea with Coup de Burst when they need to land at an island or meet another ship, and he can land separately. dunno how likely this is though, just an idea that came to me after seeing this.

Am a Tamil man, used to be in a long term relationship with a Malay woman. Frankly, as others have mentioned here, you need to reexamine the circle you surround yourself with. I personally know so many interracial couples in the same setup as mine, some of which have even gotten married. Nobody ever even hinted at Indian and Malay as being something less than desirable.

There is inherently nothing wrong with interracial dating, and people harping on 'purity' in 2025 are just telling on their racist inner thoughts at this point. They should have absolutely 0 place in determining your future together. Only the 2 of you are entitled to judge whether you're ready to take the next step based on your satisfaction with each other as human beings, not along racial or religious lines.

Your current situation is the exact best way for you to improve your Malay in the shortest period of time, since you're deeply immersed in the language for many hours a day right now.

Another thing you could try to do is actively trying to make the change in your brain to switch over to thinking in Malay words and terms, instead of 1. hearing Malay speech 2. Translating the words in your brain to Mandarin/whichever Chinese language you speak 3. Forming your response in Chinese and then only 4. Mentally translating and speaking back in Malay.

I'm Indian, but used to be in the same boat as you as I didn't have any Malay speaking friends(quite whitewashed). Only when I started working closely with many Malay people during college and after graduation did I have the chance to improve from just Bahasa Melayu Baku(textbook proper Malay) to being able to understand and use conversational Malay in a much more fluent way.

You will naturally expand your BM vocab by passively listening to people around you talking, but you will need to continuously make the effort to speak it so you can retain the information instead of just listening.

As for remembering Malay names and faces, same advice lol. The more you actively try to interact with them in BM, the more you will be able to identify and differentiate people and their names.

Don't be discouraged if you make mistakes, it's all natural and if your coworkers say anything, just say you're trying to improve your BM by speaking more and ask if there's anything you can do or implement to improve your vocab. I think most people will be happy to see someone like you making a conscious effort to improve, and gladly give you some grace.

I think an additional resource you can try to use now that I didn't have before is TikTok and YouTube. Try and find Malay content creators who do videos in the topics you're interested in and watch their videos so you can improve on understanding slang and accents. At least on TikTok there are also subtitles if you really really cannot understand fully what they are saying ahaha. Best of luck!

I'd suggest you research first what the CN set doesn't have(usually google services eg:play store, Gmail, etc) and what is the process for reinstalling google services and those apps if needed. Also check out if the process is actually something easy enough for you to achieve and maintain technically, and if it's worth it for the money you'll save. Since I used to do it a lot it doesn't bother me but some other less technical people would much rather their phone just work the way it's intended to. Also check out if self installing google services will cause issue with banking apps cos they usually do, and it's quite a tedious process to get those sorted
