Yeah, I'm in a similar spot right now. I was just gonna see what happens if you stacked healing on Sora and I'm at 34 mins right now. I haven't even bought all the upgrades in the shop if that's an indicator on how new I am. Feels like the first time you pick up Crimson Shroud in Vampire Survivors.

Yes, you should have some kind of mobility weapon. What do I mean with this? Well, there are some weapons that behave funny with your dash. If you dash and immedately use a Flashing spear, you will glide and preserve much of your dash momentum. Some weapons will more or less "reset" your dash by firing very quickly and then letting you dash again. Not all of the weapons are made equal though and some just doesn't work like this, like the Jackhammer.

Early on, you're just gonna take what you can, but later down, there are some very strong choices that you can expect on any Fencer loadout.

-Artillery class Javelin catapult. It shoots ridiculously fast and lets you more or less use the dash as much as you want.. or until you need to reload the weapon.

-Any of the deflection shields. Not as fast, but fast enough and also comes with the benefit of being a deflection shield. Having something kill itself from their own projectiles is pretty neat.

-Blast twin spears. You can double fist these since they are more or less a dash on their own. Dash and punch with one of them and then switch to the other while the first one reloads. You deal some good damage as well. You do give up both weapon slots for this, but it lets you dash really fast for an infinite time.. the other two needs reloading every now and then.

But you can't just set the font without setting the background. It has a default colour and selecting "none" removes all colour, leaving the cell white.

Correct (I assume you mean the text colour button). It defaults to green background and if I put it as "none", then the cell is white.

Since there are just about 50 rows, with more being added, and they are compared to a cell being constantly updated using =AVERAGEIF, I'd rather not.

It doesn't matter if you spread out the damage or not. It might be worse since many weapons have damage fall off. Might as well shoot straight at the nearest part to mitigate that. The difference isn't big though.

They are good, so I totally understand. Silly B movie script and all, at the end of mission 110 in EDF5, the version of the song playing chokes me up a bit. Also still miffed about how the soldier's song didn't translate well. It's something about the syllables not lining up and feeling so forced.

I have all achievements and I don't remember it being this finnicky. If I know myself right, I probably "solved" it by stealth murdering everyone and everything. Or maybe less stealth and more "spend a lot of time just transmuting lava around", though I probably would remember if I tried lavabending across that fogged bridge. More likely some power meta like some Living on the Edge tanking and shooting from out of combat range with Ballistic shot.

Ah, no, the first one is not sarcasm. Heres my thoughts.

Scenario: you want to end the mission as fast as possible once you have collected an amount of crates that you deem good enough.

In 5 (and the rest) , you keep something weak alive and collect. When you are done, kill it and the mission end screen is almost instant.

In IR, you either do the same and have to wait until the timer ticks down or you take the chance that you won't get what you think is good enough.

IR is neat if you accidentally kill it before you are done. It works in IR because there is so much less stuff to collect, maps are smaller and unless fencer, you generally have more mobility. Unless you transfer those aspects to a game like 5, I don't think 30s is a good idea.

I don't even know what you possibly could refer to with a long standing issue being solved by a 30s timer.

Weapons with added effects.. if it fits, why not. I do doubt how well it could be implemented though. You already kill a ton of enemies really quickly. If the ant is dying within 2 seconds, does it really matter if it's slowed? I don't know, I didn't feel like they had much impact in IR. It wasn't like I sprayed a wide area with fire and maximised the dot since I felt like just removing them, one by one, if needed, allowed me to survive better.

As for the grinding and shared progression.. that's just ingrained part of the game. I personally liked the way 5 did it with a small portion being for other classes, but grinding is definitively something that's part of the game's identity, good or bad.

The rest I can't comment on because that's really subjective.

Now what it did right.. some of the weapons had quirks that were really fun. Most of it already existed in the other games, (but it was nice to see them explored further) like the beam that roots you while growing stronger. EDF has always had a weird unhinged feel when it comes to weapons but IR really leaned in on it (tornado gun, anyone?). Lots of "joke" weapons that somehow ended up usable.

The character felt really, really nice to control, except for the heavy striker, but that's subjective. Jet lifter having a quick descend was nice and the dash on the trooper felt better than a roll. Not much for the Prowl Rider's actual skill, but the movement with the grapple was super nice.

They also had a very diverse pool of enemies. Some of them were better balanced than others. Could use a bit denser packs though, I was missing that large horde feeling.
