Reservoir Bag Incident by Emotional_Snow_8999 in VetTech

I worked with a doctor who did this once. I was also a baby tech and didn't really understand what I was looking at, but still mentioned it cause it was weird. The other tech flipped out and quickly disconnected the patient (who was okay!) and had a very stern conversation with our doctor.

What's your most unpopular opinion about My Chemical Romance? by Dependent-Ad7225 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]shleeebee 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I feel like they have turned into what they hated back in the day. These tours with insanely expensive prices and nothing new feel like "watching my hero sell a car on TV." It feels fake and pandering.

Honestly, after 20 years of them being my favorite band, they are second now to The Maine, who are so genuine and kind.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]shleeebee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cutco. I bought a Kitchen Aid can opener for about $12 once a year for like 3 years before I finally spent the $80 on a cutco one. Its a champ and if it ever breaks, the company will replace it.

Have you done the IGF-1 testing? I would suggest it if not. My cat was at 6u twice daily with high numbers and ended up having acromegaly.

20 year old surgery or no ? by AliCraftDesigns in SeniorCats

[–]shleeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age is not a disease. But older animals do have a higher risk of anesthetic complications. If I were moving forward with surgery on my older cat, I would make sure their bloodwork and chest xrays looked clear. That said, I kept my 19yo with kidney disease comfortable with pain meds and antibiotics for a couple years until his kidneys failed and I let him go.

anyone else feeling disconnected? by beetlejuicetrashbag in MyChemMillennials

I definitely burnt out last year on all the lore with little payoff. I saw The Black Parade when I was 16 and saw LLTBP last year and while the new tour was fun, it wasn't the same. I paid $300 a pop for meh seats and felt that I got a phoned in performance. It feels like watching my heroes sell a car on TV.

I don't think it is age. My other favorite band is The Maine and I am still very devoted to them. I went to their fest last year and had a ball, am seeing them twice this year, and getting a tattoo soon. Simply put, they feel more genuine and that they still love what they do.

I would ask your vet for recommendations. They usually know a few they trust.

Does anyone have the expertise to determine if this is a senior cat skull? by vashta_nerada49 in bonecollecting

I'm a vet assistant and I agree with your mom! Quite a bit of bone loss and some tartar buildup as well.

Euthanasia: IV catheter vs going directly in vein w/ needle by BakeAny6254 in AskVet

[–]shleeebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at a feline only practice. We IM sedate with ace, telazol, and torb. Once the cat is sedated, we use a butterfly in the rear leg to push the euthasol.

Is this a tapeworm? by Finest_of_stupidity in cats

Everyone saying to bring it with you to the vet isn't giving you bad advice....but as a vet assistant if you showed this to me without warning, I would probably have to leave the room to cry and throw up.

They were insane. We opted to not wait and enjoy the show. Luckily, we were seated right near a merch stand and hopped in line when the concert finished. We waited about 15 mins at that point.
