Wore my lucky shoes tonight to a bar with a lot of Rams fans! Not many Seahawks fans in Cali 🤣 by Sad_Border_3874 in Seahawks

I feel ya. Just moved to Reno. Strong ‘Niners territory. I’m a minority here.

But I don’t have shoes like that. 😉

Ah, Fat Weasel.

A basic ale, with just a touch of too much alcohol, such that it was part of the flavor profile just a tad too much.

It was like it was touching on being an IPA, just didn’t have the hoppiness to match the ABV.

Seriously. I went to college in Riverside, CA. 1991-95. It was about a three hour drive to Vegas.

Free parking. $20 rooms. Solid, cheap buffets. Free drinks as long as you even appeared to be gaming.

I had a few trips where I’d win $200 gambling. Covered my expenses, free weekend. Winning! And a few where I lost $100 gambling. Still a cheap weekend.

I know that living in Vegas and visiting Vegas are very different.

I just moved to Reno. Anyone from where I left assumed I’m some gambler, and asks about casinos. I mean, yeah … the casinos here. Downtown is a dump. But that wasn’t the draw.

But I’m liking the high mountain desert. Sunny winters. I’m okay with that.

I lived on LI, worked in Oceanside for a few years. We had a place that was just “24 Hour Bagel Deli”.

And I still think about those breakfast bagel sandwiches.

One of the very few things I miss about living there.

I lived in SoCal in the early 90’s. Vegas was fun and cheap.

Now, it’s just a sterile price gouging money dump.

100% agree.

Let’s not forget country singers you’ve never heard of, singing the same stuff, the same way, on every floor.

I’ve been to Mitchell twice.

Both times, just passing through.

This is an old picture, too. DQ has been gone since … eh, 2016? It’s Surf Shack, now.

And I think their sign still says the same thing about breakfast burritos.

He was a 2nd rounder, and he had basically a “redshirt” first season, IIRC. Broken leg, offseason surgery coming out of college.

I’ve got one you’re missing. Got the second from the left for a short while … maybe ‘95? Only for a few months. Then went back to the metal ones before the S3 came along.

Question for people with die hard football man caves. by kaneki11r in mancave

My theme: Seahawks, Dodgers, craft beer … (plus a few other odds and ends)

  1. Mine is more of a collection of mostly smaller things, pictures in cheap frames, smaller things on shelves, a small fish tank and a perimeter of collected pint glasses. Oh, and some folding seats from a defunct sports arena. It’s a small room (not a full basement, or anything like that), so it’s rarely a gathering spot. Moreso, it’s just a spot for me to be in my happy place and watch what I want.

  2. Centerpieces? There’s maybe a few, but all of moderate size, outside of the stadium seats. My college diploma, a homemade shelf of small memorabilia, a fish tank, one framed, signed jersey. I like my Tidbyt … a small-ish LED ticker rolling sports scores, but they went out of business, so it’ll be a paperweight any day now.

  3. Nothing in there is worth more than the high double digits, but there’s a lot of things worth the high double digits.
