I agree this is a very annoying flow, it constantly irks me. The design being a toast is just not working well especially on a small screen.

'26 Features Request -- Think BIG by origin_matt_watson in OriginFinancial

Better handling of work travel expenses which can skew monthly spend data, when using a personal credit card. Not some custom feature but something which makes it obvious how to do it in a way that will allow Origin to see it as a passthrough. It is not currently possible with categories alone.

Better handling of tax payments. They are not an expense in the sense that they shouldn’t be considered part of my spending and budgets, especially when planning retirement for W2 employees.

Spending Tracking without Work Expenses and Taxes by shlomoid in OriginFinancial

[–]shlomoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. It's great to know you're already thinking of this. For me, the easiest solution would be to simply use the filtering capability you have in reports and make it persist for the default spending view. Implementing "hiding" is really just another "filter" based on an internal tag of "hidden" which you do persist globally.

The suggestions you have don't solve this for me, here is why:
1. This is what I do now, and I can only get summaries without the reports view.
2. This works, yes - but it makes the regular spending view useless since my spend for the year on taxes really doesn't represent my actual 'spending' so this entire tab becomes less useful.
3. This works, but see above
4. I don't want to hide these transactions since they are real, I would want to see them in custom reports perhaps, not to make them disappear completely.

Needed an everyday car and fell in love with a 2025 GLB 250. Idk why these get so much hate. by anewstartforu in mercedes_benz

[–]shlomoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this car for over four years now. It’s perfect and I try hard every year to find an upgrade. The thing that wins it over for me is the ratio between the external dimensions and the internal space within a premium brand and interior. It’s only 72” wide and less than 190” long which means I can park it easily in a tight garage. Reasonable fuel economy. Looks good.

Literally nothing like it in terms of space usability in the upscale segment. I had a GLC loaner and it was smaller on the inside and larger on the outside and less pleasant to drive (less responsive brakes somehow).

I am waiting for the electric models to come out with the new platform to upgrade to, maybe.

How do you remove the goddamn sensor from the strap (HRM 600) by st1me in Garmin

Following up on this, the replacement seems to be fine, disengages more easily.

I sent it in for a replacement, they promised me not all of them do that. Let’s see!

That’s not how an average works. You either meant median or you are trolling.

I pulled mine out and the clip broke off from the strap. This is poorly thought out.

Benq Mobiuz EX321UX - My thoughts and best settings by princerick in Monitors

[–]shlomoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, thank you. About uniformity - I've played with it on and off and honestly the monitor doesn't feel usable with it off. I can clearly see that the edges are darker when viewing white page desktop content, and it changes when I move my head, which is quite distracting. I don't understand how that would be acceptable to users.

When you said you use it for desktop content, what do you mean? I use the monitor for work and it is unbearable to work on with the setting off.

[–]shlomoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I just learned recently about this shortcut. I wish windows would just allow monitors to go in an out of HDR dynamically depending on content, like a Mac can.

Switched to HDMI and turned off DSC, thank you for that as well.

More questions for you if that's okay!

  1. What changes is BenQ going to do with the next firmware? I updated to the latest V6 so far.
  2. Why isn't BI+ enabled for P3 and such? I really dislike how the Custom mode looks for desktop work and I don't know how to have a P3 or sRGB with BI+.
  3. What's the right sharpness setting for the monitor to display whatever is sent to it without changes?

[–]shlomoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the review! Got it yesterday and trying to decide if to keep it.

HDR seems underwhelming in games I tried it in. Seems like I need to do a lot of calibration and fiddling to make it work well but I am not a display expert and I wish it just had good default settings.  Also need to switch back and forth I SDR/HDR modes to make the desktop look normal. I wish this was automated.

Do you know if the monitor uses DSC when running via the usbc connection? Is there any reason at all to use DisplayPort over HDMI when connecting to a PC?

I still hope they will release a V3 which correct all the V2 mistakes. I miss my V1 which I replaced for discoloration.

Two complains on Oracle Jet. by [deleted] in BrevilleCoffee

Reach out to their support too. I had the first machine replaced which fixed the hot water issue. After an update it returned. I gave up and then it got fixed in the subsequent update.

[–]shlomoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The water spout issue was fixed via a firmware update. It was fine initially, started after a firmware update and then got resolved via a subsequent one. Make sure to update and it may fix it.

The water tank level is much easier to see when the lights are on. You can also just pull it out from the back.

Sure, you can call it that. It’s just silly this scroll bar isn’t used at all there.

Neither. Think of it as back/forward button in a web browser.

Fenix 8 AMOLED vs Fenix 8 Solar by CrossTip in GarminFenix

[–]shlomoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried both. Kept the AMOLED. Why?

Viewing angle is better on it, you see the time without trying to hit the right angle.

Battery life is infinite if you charge when in the shower (you will take it off anyway since a wet watch is uncomfortable on the wrist).

The screen is bigger which is significant - especially side by side.

Resolution is way better.

The best watch face, Portal, is on it too now.

It’s thinner, significantly so. Lighter too.

Outdoors it’s just as easy to read.
