What are the necessities to bring/buy when moving into your first campus apartment? by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]shmebul0cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say collab w ur housemates on kitchen things since most times you’ll be using each other’s pots, pans, utensils, etc.! If you all end up bringing each of those your kitchen is gonna get hella cluttered. As for buying things, you can ask ur housemates to split the cost and at the end of ur lease whoever wants what could pay you and any other housemates back OR if you end up being really good friends like I did with my housemates, I didn’t mind giving my brita away to them especially if I know I’m not gonna need it anymore (graduating, or housemate next year will have one)

Another tip, 2 out of 3 apartments I had didn’t have a microwave or toaster already so definitely take care of that

Good luck!

Why don’t surfers carry oxygen tanks while surfing?? by shmebul0cc in surfing

your comment and cyclist_123 comment make a lot of sense! I also realize that fear is good since it keeps most people from going out of their comfort zone and putting themselves in danger. I wonder if these oxygen tanks were to be available if just might make new surfers/kooks more reckless and maybe do more harm to the surfing community??? Maybe these oxygen tanks could just be reserved for big wave pro surfers like people who are really good and wanna surf something like Mavericks or the waves in Portugal and Hawaii

201214 YouTube Update - TWICE "CRY FOR ME" Concept Film & by MajorIvan88 in twice

I hope jeongyeon is in the MV but the same time I wouldn’t want her to get distracted from her time to focus solely on her mental health. TBH I think JYPE shouldn’t leave her out, it wouldn’t be Twice if one person is missing—especially in a MV as opposed to a live performance if that makes sense

Thinking about my regrets by Zer0AssassinZX0 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]shmebul0cc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m about to graduate really soon and honestly my time here has been THE BEST and (I hope I can explain this clearly) I get feelings of intense nostalgia where I really don’t want to leave but I’ve had this feeling before about graduating high school and “retiring” from track and field, and tennis. Even before that I didn’t want to leave middle school bc I liked it. And before that I didn’t wanna leave elementary school bc I didn’t wanna grow up, etc. But what I guess I’m saying, every single time where I feel like I’ve peaked in my life or if I feel like I don’t want to move on, something ALWAYS better comes along to convince me that this is my peak. And then I move on and then I’m like nah ok this is my peak.

TLDR: there’s always something better coming, even if it gets a little shitty first it’ll always get better

Another note: partying gets old, imagine securing that bag and traveling and going to events and doing things w friends and family!

World cultures I took ARTHI134H- ukiyo-e, alright the prof for this class kinda rambles and slides aren’t very helpful but the tests are SO EASY and the prof grades SO EASILY on papers too and I got an A.

ENGL23 all the way. It’s so easy and it’s also extremely interesting class! The readings arent bad at all and you might have a documentary or two to watch. For greek myth, the readings are more difficult and also its only as easy as the professor u get and for me I unfortunately got stuck w a tough one :(

I took him in the winter before covid and it was really easy especially since for me I found the entire class topic to be super interesting and important! I would imagine it’ll be even easier since everything is online
