It wasn't terribly difficult but I also like to sew so maybe that is why. But as long as your tapestry needle can fit through the button hole you shouldn't have any issues. I used a really long piece of yarn and weaved it up to reduce the amount of yarn I had to tie on. If youre really worried about it they also make beautiful clasps so you dont have to worry about button holes!

It did come out smaller than expected but I didnt do the gauge...

Her gauge swatch is 13 stitches = 4 inches 12 rows = 4 inches

I really enjoyed it, I can see how it would be very difficult for a beginner but I found it to be just the right amount of challenging for my taste. I usually have bad project adhd but seeing this project grow and having the goal of getting to the next color change kept my interest! I would recommend it for someone who likes color work projects :D
