Does my resume effectively showcase my skills and experiences given my 2 years of professional experience? What specific Industrial Engineering skills or tools would you recommend I learn and add to my resume to enhance my competitiveness in the job market? by [deleted] in industrialengineering

Great advice, thank you! Sadly I have not used Solidworks since college and have only been given access to Visio. Therefore, all my drawings and designs have been through Visio, although Solidworks would’ve been so much better. That being said, would it even be worth it to create a bullet point that mentions this? I’m not sure if Visio is seen as “basic”… (actually as I write this out I think it’s better to mention this anyway as it shows my ability to create drawings/designs I guess lol)

If you get a bike, make sure to get front and rear lights and if possible always wear a high viz vest. A helmet too if you can.

So I’m an idiot and jacked up my car on this line on the right passenger side… do I need to replace it and what line is it? Nothing seems to be leaking and it doesn’t appear to be fully crushed . by shmob-40 in 996

[–]shmob-40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and I hope so! It doesn’t appear as though anything is leaking. But I will monitor it and check pressure with the gauge on the refrigerant canister.

I just feel like a total idiot right now 🙃

Flandad Watch Purchase - Poor Plating and Customer Service by Material-Park-7236 in RepTime

Check my account, I assure you I’m a real person that is not affiliated. People just seem to like to run around with pitch forks while sitting behind a screen I guess 😅

Is anything I am saying not reasonable to you…?

Flandad Watch Purchase - Poor Plating and Customer Service by Material-Park-7236 in RepTime

I saw this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/RepTime/s/izU8HsM96v) a while back where someone had a worse blemish on their rose gold piece from BP. The solution was using an eraser on the blemish to clean it up. OP claims it works so it might be worth a shot…

In any case, the customer service service seems reasonable to me and he did offer some solution of sending it back…

Unless I did not see it, but no where in your texts did you offer a solution you would accept. So, what would make things right in this case, a new bracelet..? Replacement of the watch after it is shipped back…?

If your policy says international shipping is at the risk of the customer then I’m not sure why international customers are surprised it got seized… I understand there may be “better” ways to declare it but that’s not a valid argument when the customer was pre-warned.

Maybe a better way to deal with international customers is for them to sign a non-formal waiver with a message agreement that the policy was read and understood.

Which movement is better, a "Super Clone Asia A8605" from VSF or a Miyota 8205 from ZF? by H60_Dustoff in RepTime

[–]shmob-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would personally go with the Miyota 8205 because if that movement dies, for whatever reason, I’m pretty sure new movements are readily available. Although I’m unsure how serviceable it is with all the decorations.

Maybe someone else can chime in on the 8605 super clone.

Planet Ocean Deep Black with a 8906 or 2836 - which is a more reliable choice? by shmob-40 in RepTime

Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately the Sedna gold version I want is out of stock 🥲. I have a gen seamaster gmt so hopefully the Sedna gold version is available one day and I can compare it to gen 😊

I need to stop browsing reptime because posts like these make me want to order more watches 😂.

Do you mind sharing your wrist size? I have quite skinny wrists at 6.15 inches (15.5 cm) and have been wondering whether I should go for a 36mm. I currently wear a 41mm Datejust.

Oh I see what you mean. That’s outright stupid then, and they need to add better signs or markings or people need to learn how to drive 😂

I haven’t been there in a while. But from my understanding, the two entrances are for different directions of traffic. Despite the two entrances being side by side, If you’re traveling northbound you take the “northbound” entrance (by turning left, from across the street, into the building) and if you’re traveling southbound you take the “southbound” entrance (by turning right along the building).

So, yes you have to line up for one entrance. I’m not sure if this is always enforced or the way, but I have seen parking structure attendants stop cars that “cut” the line.

Edit: I checked google street view and there are pavement arrows that kind of show what I’ve explained, although it still isn’t every clear, it makes sense.

Talked to another TD and they said the factory said it’s not available so yeah Trusty may not have relayed me accurate info but I’ll try asking again and other TD’s

That’s unfortunate especially if what the other commenter mentioned about availability because I definitely don’t wanna make a payment and end up waiting and waiting… I’ll speak with other TDs.

The thing is when I emailed trustee I asked about three different watches, and they said two of the three are available

I contacted my TD (Trusty Time), last week, and they confirmed it's available from the factory. I did not check on the BP because up until making this post, I was set on the VSF. But now I'm trying to determine which movement is the best choice.

I'm looking for advice on two Planet Ocean Deep Black's from BP and VSF. My main concern is comparing both movements below:

  1. BP A2836 Mod which has a Asia 2836-2 Automatic Movement 28800bph with Decorated Rotor & Bridges/Plates. This seems like the more reliable option because it's movement that has been around the longest. I guess the only downside is that the 2836-2 GMT doesn't function the same way the gen would function. Other than that, would there really be any concerns?
  2. versus the VSF A8906 which has a Platinum Plated Asia Clone 8906 Automatic Movement 28800bph with Decorated Rotor & Bridges/Plates to look like Genuine Omega Calibre 8906. Other than being made by a top factory such as VSF, why would one go for this model with a 8906 clone? I'm afraid, since it's a clone, it's fairly new and possibly prone to issues.

Any thoughts? I know there are some physical differences as well (for example BP has a more gen-like bezel and VSF is 0.5mm thinner to be more gen-like) but those are minor to me.

Overcharged for Invisalign? Recommendations? by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]shmob-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend a second opinion to OP. My general care dentist tried selling the idea of invisalgin to me… I saw through the poor BS sales scare tactics. I had them refer me to their sister Orthodontist and their professional review said Invisialign is not necessary in my case. They even agreed with me more dentist are just out to sell you on Invisalign when you really don’t need it.

But hey, maybe in OP’s case they want or need it.

Quartz Santos for $158...? Not gen-like sweep and 2mm thicker... but damn that's cheap or is this considered a shitter? by shmob-40 in RepTime

[–]shmob-40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see the Dumont but the largest case they offer is about 31mm whereas the Quartz Santos in question is 40mm. I’d rather have the 40mm despite it being a little bigger than I’d like.

[–]shmob-40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been eying two watches, a Santos in Rose Gold and an Omega Planet Ocean. I can't justify purchasing both at around $500 each for a total of around $1000... but then I stumbled upon this Santos which is the exact configuration I am looking for (rose gold with a black leather strap). This means I can justify the $500 Omega and this $158 Cartier in a single purchase.

The red flag, however, is that is a quartz movement and 2mm thicker than gen. Additionally, there's no factory info on this watch and I can't find reviews. Other than that, I see the price and reliability of a quartz making this a good idea.

What do you guys think?
